Hi,
i'm looking for the original waveforms from the Ensoniq SQ-80:

I know that the SQ8L developer "Buchty" provides a ROM dump with all waveforms but it's really hard to extract them.
Thanks,
Wildfunk

Voice of experience: The ESQ/SQ80 sound really isn't in those samples. You'd be better off sampling the complete ESQ1 (or the SQ8L VST) if you are looking for that character.
You'll find that those waveforms are HEAVILY flavored by the DOC chip and the Curtis filters. Just loading the waves in Kontakt or Synthedit (even with a similar voice architecture path) may not be worth the trouble. Try to find the old NOVAKill "SoulKiller" (I think) VST for an example, and compare it with the SQ8L which models the Ensoniq DOC amazingly well.
Of course, maybe you're just after that too-cool-for-words 8-bit piano multisample.

Loading the samples in the Sampler modules of Cherry Audio's Voltage modular plugin could be very fun, if you ask me. Also, thank you, Jupiter8!

Thank you for sharing! Loading these waves to Serum I can achieve some of the classics sounds that I made on SQ1 in the 90s.jupiter8 wrote: Mon May 11, 2009 10:43 pm You did'nt look hard enough.
