Hi,
first post here.

To play live I am using a setup made of software running on a pc laptop ( Audiomulch and Mobius), 2 hardware effects ( Eventide H8000 and Tc Electronic Fireworx) and some analog pedals.
The hardware effects are routed through the audio card ( Rme FF400) which I use for a complex routing/mixing/splitting in Audiomulch.
These effects are used to process incoming audio in real time ( guitar) and to post process realtime made loops ( on Mobius).

I would like to check if the time has arrived to leave the Eventide and the Tc at home when doing simple gigs, therefore I'd need to replace at least the delay based effects I am having through these machines through an external vst hardware box.
I don't want to stress my laptop more than it is.

I know nothing about the Uad Solo or the Tc Powercore but it seems to me that they can load just the effects that are native for those boxes, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have seen a long debate about the Sm Pro Audio box but it seems to me that the discussion is mainly about the virtual instruments matter.

What would you suggest me to consider ?

thanks,
Luca

I am in a similar situation. I was considering getting a V-Machine to run in my guitar rig, as I really hate to carry around my 8u rack consisting of all these Kurzweil, TC, and Eventide units. I'd only need to run 4 or 5 effects plugins.

Have you looked at the Eventide pedals? Hella lot more portable, cheaper and more durable than your rig right now. I'd never leave the house with the H8000 personally if I had one. ;) I reviewed the Time and Mod Factor for Recording several months ago. GReat boxes at a great price. They do have the Eventide "Flavor". I owned a DSP-4000 for over 10 years, so you know where I'm coming from. Editing patches will take a little getting used to compared to your H8000, of course because of the interface. But if you just want the delays, get the TimeFactor. Go read the manual to make sure it has what you need though for sure.

so it looks like we're still far from thinking that we can leave the rack home.

Let's wait a couple of years longer...
