Hi

--- EDIT ---

The Mac version has now been released :)

--- /EDIT ---

--- EDIT ---

As of 30 May Reverberate is on sale for £30 and there is a 30-day demo. Many thanks to all the beta testers :) If anybody finds any bugs with the demo or full version please do let me know. I'm still collecting Mac votes and when sales have been sufficient to support buying a Mac, I'll perhaps do one.

--- /EDIT ---

I've just opened a beta phase on a zero-latency convolution reverb plugin I've been working on that has some modulation capability. I'd be very interested in people's feedback (mainly if they think the modulation I've added in really helps liven up the sound or not).

The main idea here is to try and open up the sound of convolution reverbs a little by adding a little modulation and post processing. For the post effect I've got a chorus to thicken the sound a little and a modulating EQ to provide some movement. There's also the ability to modulate the mix between two back-to-back IRs (each has it's own EQ and envelopes, etc). I figure using two different IRs, panned in different places and using different EQs then modulating between them can help liven up the sound a little.

I'd be interested to know if people think the ideas here make convolution reverb sound a bit less static.

See http://www.liquidsonics.com/software_reverberate.htm

A few notes:
- The beta expires 1 July, after then there'll be a new version up or I'll have released it fully.
- It's Windows VST only, if sufficient people are interested though I may port it to the Mac (contact me here or via the website if so).
- It's a beta, so if anybody spots any issues in various hosts, on x platform or with x set of samples etc it would be helpful to post a message so I can try and fix the issues.

Thanks
Matt

I am a real reverb junkie, does it work in Windows 7 yet ???

Sounds very very interesting...

Sounds like a good plugin, so I'll download and let you know how it goes!

It certainly sound interesting.
What ever!

yes this sounds good! let me tell you what i would like to see!
1. to load 1 stereo Ir instead of 2! most of my Ir's are stereo.
2. improve the chorus so it sounds more transparent and more body. think Roland
3. add a early reflection Ir section! this goes a long way in making a more authentic room sound
4. wile your messing with modulation go all out! something like a flange on the left and a chorus on the right! that's how i set up a Ir hall to get some movement. it works well!
don't forget a predelay an adjustable colored predelay would top it off!
there will be not a verb out there like it.

i would like to put the 2 Ir's in series! also if you bypass ir1 does the dry signal pass through still

I had a quick go with it in the Win7 RC and it seemed to be ok.

If anybody else would be interested in this idea let me know and I'll probably add it in.

Not sure I understand - it loads stereo IRs into IR1 and/or IR2. If you only want to use 1 IR then you don't have to load an IR2.

I appreciate that a non-convolution pre-delay section would be cool, but it is perhaps wandering too far into the normal reverb algorithm domain than I'd like to go with this project (I think Wizoo have done this kind of thing?). Though you could always pick a pre-delay from one IR and use the tail from another.

it would be cool if ir1 and 1r2 could be bypassed from the ir mixer!

I've posted a small update to fix some minor issues with the GUI in FL Studio and fixed an issue when trying to load under Sonar.

Thanks for all the feedback so far :)

Post

Quite note to say I've posted another small update to make the handling of missing files a little more helpful.

Post

I wouldn't mind seeing a Mac VST version.

Noted, cheers :)

First impressions are good. I think the interface could use some more contrast. But so far, so good otherwise. Got to do some more testing though once this headache goes away(stupid allergies).

Cool , will give it a go! Any idea about the final cost? I don't want to fall in love with another 600$ app :D
