I just bet my very good friend that he will NOT be using XP as his primary OS on Jan 1st 2015.

He bet that he will.

The bet is for AUD$500.

Who do you reckon is gonna win?

I dunno, it's a ways off, some people are still using 98

You do know the world is ending in 2012 though? Therefor, it's moot.......

I'll let you know on that, I'm juuuuust about to go ahead and try the big 7.......just x86 (looks like I'll have to live without that x64 still

It's not bad, I still turn off all the Aero glass stuff but it's doesn't ask me if I'm sure I want to do what I'm clearly sure I want to do as much. There are other things but I'm not sure if their public knowledge, I think my MSDN build may be different from the public beta ones.

many people will still be using XP is 2015 and beyond

My money says you'll win this bet. Side bets anyone?

He'll probably be on Windows 7 (if he doesn't switch to Mac) while others have moved onto Windows 9 and most of us will still be on version 8.

many people will still be using XP is 2015 and beyond

Considering some people still use Windows 98 or 2000 today, makes that bet pretty easy to beat.

Also, as long there's no compatibility for devices people still use on 64-bit platform, the chances of making the switch are slim until the next best thing is enough to convince that switch.
