Do you know what his intentions were when he renamed them? This guy has put alot of time and energy into creating something that all of us windows vst users can have for FREE, he wont even take a donation.. and all you can do is bitch, your attack makes you come across as low class and smarmy.tomg wrote:And what does this mean? Go ahead change the name and ID, pretend like it's your code and don't reference the real coder at all? Because that's what this guy did.Vonbrucken wrote:Basically the license for the open source modules are LGPL, so they should include a reference to the place where the original (source code) can be found.
What he did is not exactly illegal but it is low class and smarmy. There is an accepted way for people to use 3rd party SE modules and give proper credit. Changing the name and ID is not acceptable.

as far as i know, these plugins were buried deep inside the realms of the interwebz, until someone - the OP? - dug them. the dev didn't promote or advertise them in any way i could find. this thread seems to be the first place where they've gone public - besides an obscure post in a polish forum which i can't read - and i suppose the problem wouldn't raise if they were kept private. as soon as the authoring issues were publicly raised, the dev seemed to sort them out in no time, and credited who needed to be credited. As far as i'm concerned, that strengthens the benefit of the doubt.
I have massive respect for tomg and his creations, and the issue needed to be cleared for shure, but maybe now all it's well?
as for me, time to
Cheers!
