I'm just at the Beta stage of my latest plug-in when Cycling 74 have announced they won't be bringing out Pluggo for Max/MSP 5. Bad news for me, as I've spent the last few months on this but it will run as a .exe file along with Max Runtime (which is free to download). Is that allowed for the developer challenge or does it have to be .dll?
Also, are we allowed to enter software that has already been released to the general public, or do we need to keep it secret up until the competition winner announcements? I haven't released mine yet, but was thinking about making it available in the next couple of weeks.
Excuse my ignorance on the matter!
Cheers,
Mike

Yeah sorry I did google it, it looks cool, but, wouldn't the fact that they've shown us it pretty much inside out break the 'secrecy' rules of the competition, or are there no secrecy rules? I think what I've made is good, but, like you say, it would take something pretty outstanding to beat that, so... hopes dashed slightly!architexture wrote:google it . Yeah , sorry I don't know the rules (i thought the fact that it had been released even as an early alpha might disqualify) The other edge of my post was to maybe stir the charcoal around a little bit and get some devs mulling over some sweet ideas .
At any rate I love seeing what the community comes up with . lets get together for a virtual block party!
