DNA,
First, thanks for working on these great plugins (and of course to the original author). They've been quite the hit on the cakewalk.audio NG.
I don't know if anyone has posted these requests or not but (copied from posts in the cakewalk.audio.NG from people who have/had the original hardware synths to compare them with):
(per the Oberheim TVS replica - Or2v)
"On my old Oberheim Two Voice Synth, there were dual
stacked knobs for the sequencer so you could have two pitches per step,
or you could just use one set to one oscillator and the keyboard to the
other one. You can of course set both oscillators to track the keyboard
monophonically for big fat two oscillator analog sounds."
(per the Oberheim TVS replica - Or2v - a request for an "upgrade", an "option" switch would be better IMO)
"That's got some great sounds. The freebee Or2v isn't really polyphonic
like the OP-X. It's capable of two notes max, just like the real hardware
was."
(per the Sonic 5 emulation)
"he glide don't work if you play a staccato part. If you don't play ultra
smoothly from key to key, the glide doesn't work (like on the real synth)."
THIS REQUEST WAS MADE FOR ALL THE PLUGINS. It should be easy to fix from what I know of Synthedit.
Again, thank you SO MUCH for taking over these great plugins. If you'd like to talk to the owners of many of the hardware versions (I'm sure there's many here too) just pop over to cakewalk.audio and tall them "Ricky" sent you.
Sincerely,
freendeed

Here's another track, called Landslide:
http://www.macvibes.com/TEMPORSOUNDS/LA ... OnighT.mp3
Regarding possible additions to the vst's, personally I wouldn't mind having velocity and especially polyphony as an option (switchable, that is), in a mark 2 version of the plugs that doesn't substitute for the originals, but can live alongside them.
In any case, thanks again and again and again for these beauties!!!

By the way, could anybody post a list of what exactly each vsti is an emulation of? Thanks

Very nice...and a little bit strange due to the timing issues with the delays. It sounds as if it all were played and not programmed (is it?), much like some of the first Kraftwerk tunes in which you did not have 100 sync between the elements because they were not all sequensed. In all it gives it a very old school feel and sound. Love it!Mac of BIOnighT wrote:Here's another track, called Landslide:

Hey, it seems I'm not alone.

Some questions:
- Would D N A plan to work on alternative versions of the plugins with velocity / polyphony / etc?
- If so, is anyone interested in participating in a topic specifically for what changes the kvr members would like? It will also be useful as to see how much these members are.
PS. Nice track, Mac of BIOnighT.

Thank you both, you're very kind
Yes, it's all performed in real time except for the drums, which I programmed (one bar only) by writing the piano roll notes, that's part of the "early electronics" feel. Also, I don't always sync the delays, as back when they only had tape delays that wasn't possible - or at least an approximate sync was all you could have. Thanks again
Regarding the topic about additions/modifications for the "mark two" elektrostudio machines, I say it's a good idea

And thank you for your website, too - I found several nice vst's thru it

I totally agree. A version that conforms to the original is a must. I think a better uption would be a "GUI switch" that would switch to a GUI with the "advanced" features. Some programs use the TAB key, etc. That way he wouldn't have to fool with 2 versions of the plugin if bugs, etc. needed to be fixed. I've seen other plugin's do this. You would just need to switch panels whenever te "advanced" key was hit and keep up with the states of the parameters in the classic and advanced models so you could set them back when switching from one to the other.Mac of BIOnighT wrote:Regarding possible additions to the vst's, personally I wouldn't mind having velocity and especially polyphony as an option (switchable, that is), in a mark 2 version of the plugs that doesn't substitute for the originals, but can live alongside them.

thanks for all suggestions, especially freendeed - probably i'll contact you later asking some questions
there won't be two versions of each plugin. it's just bad idea
One of the reasons that somehow forced us to remove download links was 10 plugins released at once, instead of one. As a result lot of bug reports were heavily inconsistent and tough to analyze.
in current iteration (1 iteration = releasing 10 plugins) there will be mainly bug fixes, some minor tweaks. But if the request is really cool - it can be implemented too. One request functionality is already implemented, I wont say which :p
In next iteration there will be more time for more of yours requests. So if you have any ideas, reports, articles - write it here.

That sounds really nice D N A!
I was talking about "2 versions" because in fact I just can't get into the minds of people who like to get limited in order to emulate more realistically a synth, and I thought they would not like their emulations to get spoiled with advanced features..

If it's ok then, even better! I'm just the wrong person to understand what's going on in here...
(btw not to pretend I'm clever; I didn't even thought freendeed's idea.
)
Keep up, D N A!

It is very very hard NOT to get inspired by these synths, so please forgive me that I spam the thread with yet another tribute tune.
Tears of The Fallen:
http://www.box.net/shared/6bfjhmfxf3
I have run out of sensible words to appraise the synths
, so I hope the tune will speak for itself.
And @D N A: Thanks a lot for hosting this project and fixing the synths.
When the most important things are done, I hope you will look into the Ocet's lack of patch recall, including tempo settings. Apart from that, I have not had any problems running the synths in Orion.
All the Best

holy crap!!!
having just seen this thread (no I'm not around much) I tried out the two that are still avaailable... WTF? It's rare that a VST plugin really surprises me anymore, but these are remarkable! inspiringly good sound.
Man, I hope the others come back soon. Thank you for the hard work done by those involved. If you need a tester on AMD dual core w/ 780g chipset, running EnergyXT 1.41, EnergyXT2.51, and FL Studio 8.5 beta, pm me. I'd be happy to help out with such a worthy cause.
