Glad to hear it.
I would still call it a *slight* bug that the mixer channels are labeled 2,4,6, and 8.
That bug is now fixed too.
Also, I was able to crash the plugin with some access violation message by turning the pan control hard left. I couldn't reproduce it again, but I'll report back if I figure it out.
Definitely let me know if it happens again.

Giving this a little more thought, it probably isn't my place to make comments like this. I used to work in QA at Apple, and its just that I've spent a lot of time going through the testing process. Anyway, I apologize if that came across as insulting. This is by far the most interesting drum synth I've come across in years, and I'm quite excited about it. :)

Thanks, It's good to know it's finally working on your machine.

That new preset sounds good, I think it's the hip hop one. I wasn't too into the others, but I always use my own anyways.

I can't see ever buying another drum plugin. All I like is cheap drum machine sounds, 80's electronic toms, and acoustic drums that don't sound like they were miked a mile away.

You can get the 1st two free in samples, the 3rd is Extreme drum synth. I guess it's rude to bash other companies, but man, I've been playing drums for 17 years and I could have some words with them.

That's been one of my favorites so far as well. The kind of dark sounding hihat gives it a unique sound.

I tried to keep the sound fairly dry and up close. It's not too hard to add reverb if you want a more distant sound, but it's almost impossible to make a distant sound seem closer.

Note, I just released an incremental bug fix. It removes some internal clipping that would sometimes distort the kick sounds.

Transient shaping can bring a sound closer if used correctly ..

I almost forgot to buy this before the end of the month! :-o Thankfully, I did remember at the last minute and bought it yesterday. I just have to say, this is the coolest drum synth ever. I had a lot of fun last night generating random sounds and then tweaking them to build up a unique drum kit.

I do have one feature request... I mapped all the pads to notes on my Korg PadKontrol, which was a fairly painless process, but still required quite a few mouse clicks. Would it be possible to add some sort of "batch MIDI learn" function, such that you play a series of MIDI notes, and it maps each successive note to the next pad? That would be a much more expedient method of mapping out a whole kit.

That seems like a reasonable request. I'll see what I can do.

There's a new update available.
  • Added start position control
  • Added envelope scaling controls.
  • Added additional oscillator types.
  • Added learn all mode for faster midi mapping.

Thanks for the update. I'm really enjoying this synth.

A few bugs:
When using "Learn All" mode with my padKontrol, I ran into a couple of different error messages. I stupidly failed to write them down, but the first had to do with not being able to load images, and the second said something about not having enough room. In both cases, some of the pads failed to load their graphics during the learn process. One learning was finished, retriggering them a single time would reload the graphics. One of these times, some of the knobs throughout the interface also failed to load, but could be refreshed by clicking on them. If you need more detail, I can test it again and be a little more methodical this time.

Also, opening the Random function on any of the lowest four pads would place the Random window partially outside the viewable area.

Thanks for the report.

Those 2 bugs should be fixed now. Let me know if you notice anything else.

Sorry for the slow response, but I'm still getting the same bugs with the latest version. Tested in Orion and EnergyXT 1.42, with the same results. I get various error messages each time I do Learn All. Here are the errors:
Access violation at address 100AC188 in module 'ExtremeDS.dll'. Read of address 11940A6E.
Not enough storage is available to process this command.
This operation is not valid because the current image contains no valid header.
