Hi Brad I think we have a little bug.

Here the fact:

I create a midi file with inside only a control change precisely C.C.110 with value 127 positioned after the fourth bar.
I loaded this midi file in media file and sent the midi out in midi
loop back 1.
I assigned this midi controller to the Metronome sound ON/OFF with Action set = OFF.
The purpose is have only four bar of metronome, stopping sound On/Off after the fourth bar.
The first time I start the reproduction of this file it work properly. Four bar of metronome and then the Metronome sound ON/OFF go regularly OFF.
At this point I stop the reproduction I click with mouse the Metronome sound ON/OFF button for prepare the metronome to play again in next reproduction.
The Metronome sound go regularly ON but when I restart the reproduction the midi assignment seems broken and after the fourth bar the Metronome sound remain indifferent to the control change sent from midi file.
The only way at this point to have working again this midi controller assignment is close and reopen Cantabile.

I experienced same situation assigning a C.C.111 with value 127 and Action set = On triggered by the transport Stop button the first time it work properly but when I stop the reproduction the sound ON/OFF go On as expected but from this moment no way to switch Off again the Metronome sound and the mid assignment seems broken.

Cheers,

Gianluca

Hi Gianluca,

I think the reason for this problem is that the midi assignments trigger on transition from value<64 to value>64. You need to set the controller back to 0 again to reset it. So, immediately after setting it to 127 set it back to 0 again.

I hope this helps.

Thank-you Brad,
not only this help but solve the problem.
And more it has sense because a complete transition
of a command by a real thing is made by a 0 to 1 an then a return 1 to 0.
Then it wasn't a bug but an incorrect interpretation.

My fault,

Sorry,

Gianluca
