To whom are you referring?
:)
He's reffering to the Patented:Jazzy:Sound

:D

Post

I was primarily referring to you, Jazzyspoon, because the remix and the "Patented:Jazzy:Sound" was done by you. But I'd also like to know about Emerald Tablets/Remcos time as a musician, because obviously his songs/sound are great, too. (I can't get "psychological assault" out of my head... :) )

Post

I have been a musician to one degree or another most of my life, but i have been recording/mixing/remixing with DAWs for about 7 years (and hardware before that, about 10 or more years)

ET definitely has some great material (and a bottomless amount of it, it seems).

My 'sound' is the Frankenstein monster of my many musical influences and experiences, so patenting it could likely get me a class action lawsuit. :hihi:

Thanks! Every year was well spended it seems. :)

Lush intro guitars, I like them. Wonderful vibe created by beat bass and background layers. The mix is just perfect right now.
I somehow dont really like the vocals, but thats not your fault :D ... though maybe theres a little bit too much of reverb on them. I like long, trippy reverbs and delays, but here a bit less reverb (or better filtered reverb) could help people understand the vocals.
That being said, layering and groove are fantastic. I am definitely gonna put this on CD for my car stereo.

Thank you bugland, Cybernetika, Lotuzia, sazb30, and alvin18 for your comments and feedback.
@Cybernetika: The vocals came to me with reverb already on them, so I had to work with them/effect them as they were. Still, I like how they have a somewhat classic character to them. It was kind of like remixing an old Nina Simone track. ET's voice + accent has a unique quality in itself.

@ET: Get home soon so you can hear the finished mix! :) Seriously though, enjoy your vacation.

This is quiet luscious (there's an adjective I haven't used in a while).

Heard this the first time today on the Member's Music player. Hooverphonic definitely. Saving for future listening - absolutely.

I'd like to hear your take on Remco's "Hope is the thing with feathers" from the Chrysalid CD we did a few years ago.

Thanks, Scott! :) I'll work with ET again, I'm sure. Glad you liked it.
