well, sorry for that but maybe there's something wrong with your configuration then ?fanfarecircuit wrote: actually, it crashes firefox 3 on my end too, as well as, ie 7 and 8.

whatever. it's my fault for trying to open a blog in internet explorer. i don't know what i was thinking.
i don't know what happened with firefox today. i have visited the site with it before without problems, but the site is generally running very slow and it did crash firefox today for me multiple times. that's when i finally gave up and posted here.
damn it! it just did it again in firefox. it freezes up everything for about 60 seconds and then i have to force it to quit.
here's a funny story... i was trying to pay my girlfriend's mortgage online over the last few days and could never get to her account. it would not accept her login. so we called after several days of trying and do you know what the jackass on the phone tells me? well, we don't support ie 6, 7, 8, safari, opera, or firefox 3. but we do support firefox 2... that should work fine for you. i'm not making this up.
from now on i'm just developing websites for netscape 2 and all my visitors can just f**k off.

I can't get my website to display properly in IE either ... looks great in Firefox, but IE puts spaces underneath links, where no spaces should be
I've tried to fix it, but no success yet ...
me too ...

it must be since your site is the only site i've had issues with nonstop for two weeks.D N A wrote:well, sorry for that but maybe there's something wrong with your configuration then ?fanfarecircuit wrote: actually, it crashes firefox 3 on my end too, as well as, ie 7 and 8.
you are the guy that's going to get the bugs out of this software and you can't write a blog that doesn't crash several types of browsers AND you don't care if explorer works or not?

More noticings for DNA: eSLine envelope, apart from the weird attack portion of the sound, don't really behave in actual paraphonic behavior. Maybe make a switch for that?

I was curious so I went on VSTCafe with Internet Explorer 5.5 instead of using the latest Opera and I had no problems at all, the site seems to display and work as nicely as in Opera and IE did not crash or anything. I had to disable scripting though otherwise I couldn't access the site at all but I am guessing this is just a script that has been added to reject IE users.

Well I dunno but if scripting is enabled I get an error message dialog box that says Internet Explorer cannot access the site. Operation aborted.fanfarecircuit wrote:huh? please tell me that's not true.eidenk wrote:I had to disable scripting though otherwise I couldn't access the site at all but I am guessing this is just a script that has been added to reject IE users.
When I click OK I am then redirected to the built-in IE page that says the page cannot be displayed.

do you know if it's possible that a script like that would crash firefox if internet explorer was open at the same time? i don't know about these things. i typically don't look into writing malicious code.eidenk wrote:Well I dunno but if scripting is enabled I get an error message dialog box that says Internet Explorer cannot access the site. holy shit. that is what's happening with firefox 3.0.10. if i open firefox alone and go to vstcafe.com, no problems. if i open firefox and go to vstcafe.com while i have an internet explorer window also open. total crash.
if this is from some sort of code on the vstcafe site, i believe this dna [descriptive explitive deleted until further investigation] should be banned. this has caused me alot of problems the last few days.

yes, that's exactly the same message I have with my IE6 and that's the problem i cant fix so far. Well, it has something to do with youtube embeded videos, for example this subpage works with my IE6 (no youtube video) http://www.vstcafe.com/2009/06/how-to-m ... rials.htmleidenk wrote: Well I dunno but if scripting is enabled I get an error message dialog box that says Internet Explorer cannot access the site. I just cant track the reason why it behaves so dramatically in IE. I believe that it may be some combination of blogger.com javascript (which I dont have any control), lightbox (which I use for image presentation), maybe some JS widgets I embed and embeded videos that crash IE. I know that on google there are many articles about youtube embeding videos and IE6 problem for example but in most cases on "fresh" index.html test side with just <html><body> tags it's works.

I was thinking he perhaps just added a script to prevent IE users to access the site as it had been reported to him his site was crashing those browsers.
Edit : I just read the answer above now.
