So if you want to make money, forget about acquiring musical skill. Record companies don't care about that anyway. They just want putty that they can mold. If you're willing to sell out and let them control every aspect of your life, they will make you a star by injecting massive quantities of money into promotion. After all, it's the record companies that determine the public's musical taste through expensive promotion. The music-buying public actually believe it's their taste, but it doesn't really belong to them.Tony Ostinato wrote:i got my lumps in the bud, 5th grade talent show i played herb alperts casino royale on trumpet.i could play all of his songs. trust me it was in tune and i hit all the notes and did his vibrato and all and got nice applause.
then after me went a bunch of guys who lip synced to the stones "satisfaction" while playing air guitar and jumping around the stage. nothing choreographed or in sync, just kids jumping around.
and the crowd went wild.

Ha, It would take less than an hour to get to that place from here. (You guys that know me though would likely be nervous if I was heading towards a church and had a lighter in my pocketrobojam wrote: http://www.remchurch.org/
