If you meet a smart, caring and beautiful girl you can also be curious if she is good in bed or not? That's going on here too. We're all aware of the Waldorf sound AND are curious about its VA capabilities.Vectorman wrote:It floors me that Waldorf has finally put out a softsynth with all the PPG/Microwave/Q wavetables and a multitude of other sound design options, and still it seems like most of the posts in this thread lately are people wanting to know, "Can it do a good supersaw?" I mean, if you're probably not even going to use the oscillators in anything but VA mode spitting out sawtooths, why bother with something like Largo when most of its potential will be wasted on you anyway? It's like buying a big analog modular and using it for nothing but Minimoog bass emulations.
Largo is here!

True, different algorithms and even different brands of capacitors can have an impact on sound. Ever heard a perfect 303 clone? I haven't. (Alien303 is nice, but far from a clone) Subtle differences can result in massive audible departures.ckatrun411 wrote:<snip>
To not understand the importance of tone in a musical instrument, to completely miss the fact that pure emotion most often comes from simple melodies, and simple sounds with great vibe, is to be standing underneath a night sky, forgetting the beauty of space and time.

It would be very hard to say it any better than that.daradei wrote:If you meet a smart, caring and beautiful girl you can also be curious if she is good in bed or not? That's going on here too. Anyway I've been checking out sound clips from the blofeld and it sounds nice, do you think Largo sounds close enough that I should save some bucks and get it instead????

That's how it works. You start a new topic via the waldorf-forum site and reply via your email client. That's what i do anyway. Someone mentioned doing it via news groups previously but i haven't looked into it, i just use windoze mail.rob_lee wrote:I registered for the Waldorf boards but they don't seem to have a forum once registered??

It's hard to say from the demos i've heard. The blofeld has a very bright crisp sound. It's one of the reasons i want a demo version so i can hear the differences/similarities are. Also i'd like to know if largo will load blofeld patches, that would be sweet!george freeman wrote:It would be very hard to say it any better than that.daradei wrote:If you meet a smart, caring and beautiful girl you can also be curious if she is good in bed or not? I was wondering the same thing. Waldorf being quirky again? It would make patch sharing a lot easier and with the release of largo there's probably gonna be a lot more people signing up. In fact lack of a support forum might put people off what with no demo version and potential bugs etc...rob_lee wrote:Why don't they just get a support forum here on KVR? A forum on KVR, could be asking for problems. There is a lot of drama here, and anything here always pops up with googling.
Its good for companies with little to no drama, like Urs. For NI, for eg, it would be a nightmare.
