"The App will be available at the iTune store beginning July 09."
I'm seriously looking forward to that!

The way I understand it you have to buy the iPhone program but not Automap Pro if you already own it. The Automap (non pro) is free.
I hope this is a preparation of Automap for:

Just a rumor as you can read but a multi touch tablet from Apple would make a lot of sense now.

Oh, I know that. I was just being a pill because people bitched about having to pay for Automap Pro so Novation asking for money for this should bring out more threads like the "f**k Novation" thread though who knows - people who don't think 30 bucks is fair for Automap 3 Pro probably think iPhones should be free too.Soarer wrote:The way I understand it you have to buy the iPhone program but not Automap Pro if you already own it. This is out now. Anybody try it yet?
I have a Remote Compact and an iPhone. Any word on whether I would need Automap Pro to use both at once?

I have it on the iPod for 20 Minutes now and it works perfect with XP, Live, RemoteZero SL and Automap3 Pro. Just download it from the store, have a DAW with Automap Server loaded and the initial screen on the iPod app asks you to select this server which is indicated by the pc network name. That's all and pretty simple.
Buttons and faders are working smooth and direct and you have an own "learn" button to quickly change the assignments on the iPod pages. New additional pages which you create via the HUD on the pc are immediatly visible and usable on the pod.
I find it very handy to use the Remote as the normal controller for transport/track control and some VSTi's and have the iPod now for additional things like i.e. small filter or stereo FX's to play with it walking around. For 2,39 € - thumbs up, Novation!!

i got it and set it up and it all works with reaper, pretty cool
issue i'm having is with speed. if i use the buttons as pads on poise it's pretty instantaneous but it will randomly start lagging. and when i use a fader it's not very smooth.
maybe there's something i need to do to get better speeds on wi-fi on my phone? i got the speedtest.net app and it clocked my upload speed to pretty close to 0... (if that has anything to do with it, i don't know)

rocket34bg, first thing i would test is if the reaction of the corresponding elements in the Automap HU-Display is as smooth as you move them on your phone. If not then there might be a network/wi-fi issue. If yes then there might be a MIDI/controller issue in your DAW or PC.

yeah it's a wi-fi issue i think. it doesn't surprise me, my wireless internet hasn't been that great. i'm going to give verizon a call and see if they know what's up, then i'll report back herevaikl wrote:rocket34bg, first thing i would test is if the reaction of the corresponding elements in the Automap HU-Display is as smooth as you move them on your phone. the app seems to be pretty great though. really easy to use and great for setting up some shortcuts in reaper

Ehm, don't wanna dig too deep in that, but normally this kind of remote control isn't recommended to use it over the internet. I have a wireless lan access point in my studio and all of my iPod controller packets don't leave my network before reaching my other devices. There's no internet between them.
