Its good for companies with little to no drama, like Urs. For NI, for eg, it would be a nightmare.
Could be? :hihi:

Waldorf should have a forum somewhere on the web, they're not exactly a small fly by night company!

They have a mailing list/forum that works very well.

By the way, the "JDM" patches in Largo kick Ass ;)

Totally snobby.

The tone of a musical instrument is of paramount importance. If it wasn't, than a difference wouldn't exist between Les Paul's and Telecaster's.

Frankly, a supersaw, is a supersaw, is a supersaw, is just not the case. If it were, than any old synth would do.

Reaktor is an amazing program, more capable, and complex than 98% of the things around. But you wouldn't catch me doing anything simple, or complex in it. I don't like the tone it has. To me, its very bright, and happy sounding.

Likewise, if I loved the tone of Reaktor more than any other soft synth software in the world, and all I wanted to do was make synced saws till hell froze over, what would I use?

To not understand the importance of tone in a musical instrument, to completely miss the fact that pure emotion most often comes from simple melodies, and simple sounds with great vibe, is to be standing underneath a night sky, forgetting the beauty of space and time.

You're talking to a guy who went through about a dozen bass guitars in less than two years in pursuit of the right tone and has been making music longer than many KVR members have been alive. I don't think you need to worry about trying to educate me on "the importance of tone in a musical instrument." Ironic that you start your post by saying, "Totally snobby," and then proceed to adopt a tone of lofty condescension as if you were lecturing a ten-year-old who just started taking piano lessons. It is a bit of a leap to assume that because one is not an aficionado and connoisseur of supersaw leads that one must therefore have no interest in tonality and be in need a Carl Sagan-esque dissertation on the subject.

Hmm, sorry, but I still think it sounds unpleasend compared to synths like Sylenth1 .. too grainy and unfluid.
Cyforce wrote:The difference in the sounds is based on the dsp-calculation. in the mainparts the largo-code will be the same as blofeld. but the code who worx over dsp works in some parts other like the sw....

if you would take the code of the dsp synth and would put it 1 to 1 on the pc, you will need a quad-core with 4x3 Ghz to get 4 voices out of the synth! :D

va-hw -> sw is really a difference in the code and also in the sound... believe it or not - your thing :D
Err .. wrong ..

Although there will most likely always will be very small differences between a ported code (no matter in which direction), this does totally not mean, that DSP always sound better.
If the programer did his work good, those differences are too small to be noticed and only come from different roundings/resolutions/data-formats/approximation-codes.
