Excellent stuff...can you tell me how to "INIT" a full bank of 128?
Im starting my bank tonight..thanks.
rob
Hi Rob,
unfortunately there is no init bank function. Here is a workaround:
Init a sound and save it as FXP in a new folder. Copy & paste this FXP 127 times (you need fast and strong fingers and a solid computer keyboard). In Largo choose sound program 1. Drag all 128 Init FXPs on the Largos GUI. Voila!
Hi tsching

thanks for that i had thought i would have to do that :)
i have ran largo all afternoon and iv'e had no problems whatsoever which is a good sign for v1.0

could'nt get it to work at first coz i had to download licence onto dongle then open sonar..VOILA

also the GUI is very pleasing..it's really some size..

DocT wrote:Initialising a sound takes a second or two, while programming a sound takes a minute or two ;) You won't loose too much time if you init each single sound in a bank. Take the few mouse clicks for initialising as a break before you hurry on programming the next sound.
Thanks DocT

im reading the manual as i go but the wavetables included are superb :)

sub oscs are the business and the reso filter screams.

I installed Largo last night but am having a lot of stability problems on both Live 8 and energyXT. Has anyone else had any of the following problems..

* Opening the plugin and then closing the largo UI crashes Live.

* Selecting 'Save Program' and typing a filename, generates a file on disk with a lot of 'rubbish' chars between the name and the .fxp extension. e.g 'Paddy FT' becomes 'Paddy FT.¢ᄇᄀxp'

* reloading such a file crashes both Live and energyXT.

* If I copy a layer, select another layer and paste then most times theres no change on the selcted layer.

Hi flametop

Largo is rock solid in Sonar 8 however i saved my first preset last night and instead of looking like what i had typed i.e

LD - Hypersaw - RL

now becomes

LD - Hypersaw - RL.<><><>.fxp

not sure why this is to be honest.i'll do a screenshot later to show when im at my daw.

PS

If you copy a layer it will work it's just that you'll have to create another midi channel to hear layer 2,3,4 etc

to hear all your layers as one i.e 1,2,3,4 layered create 1 midi channel and set to channel 5
Largo then plays all 4 layers together..channels 1,2,3,4 need a midi channel created for each part in order to hear what your playing.
hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback rob, seems the filename problem is not just me then

I was using the UI keyboard to try and hear other layers. I would have assumed it 'sends' on the selected layer?

This is a confirmed bug with Live 8 PC version. We will fix it soon.
I'm in contact with other Live users and I'm working myself with Live 8. it is necessary that you update Live to the latest verison 8.03 because earlier version produces some problems with Largo.

So all you need to do is:

Channel 1 - Plays Layer 1
Channel 2 - Plays Layer 2
Channel 3 - Plays Layer 3
Channel 4 - Plays Layer 4

also if you creat a midi channel and set it to Channel 5 then you'll hear all 4 Layers playing together but be careful lol as your cpu can quickly max out..

the manual is very useful as it well written and well explained :)
still can't get rid of the symbols whilst saving presets though :(

im loving the wavetables and the modulation routing etc is spot on..
adjusting the wave loaded between 0-120 gives variations of the loaded wave whereas taking it straight upto 127 gives your basic saw again..this is good stuff.
the fx section is excellent along with 4band e.q etc and the phaser/flanger/chorus are amazing.

Thank for the info, glad to hear its not something wrong with my system. Looking forward to an update.

Apart from that I was having a ball with Largo last night. The filters are remarkable.

Thomann suddenly decided they didn't have Largo in stock a couple of days after I ordered it, so I'll have to wait - A shame their stock indicators don't update very well :x

I'm glad it's exactly as hoped though, and I'm looking forward to Rob's soundset, even if he did sell Sylenth

you know iv'e started on the soundset.. :) also i could maybe do a 10-15 minute mp3 demo skipping through largo live as i go..it will be rough but it may give people an idea..

also i regard sylenth very highly and will be purchasing again very soon..
