MoonsonoSx -> Moog Sonic Six

Davosynth -> Davoli Synth

micromoon -> Micromoog

SxMJune -> Roland Juno-6

Or2V -> Oberheim 2 Voice

Esline -> Arp Solina string Ensemble

ODsay -> Arp Odissey

Tapeotronic -> Mellotron

Rhythmus -> Korg Sm-20 (i'm not sure of this one)

Ocet -> ????
Ocet -> EKO Computerythm. A very rare piece of equipment indeed. It's a sequencer + drum machine.
And was used by Jarre on Oxygene. Its kick drum can be heard on Oxygene part 3.

Oh, so that's what it is!! You can catch a brief glimpse of it in this very rudicolous video for the stunningly beautiful Equinoxe 5 :)

Barf wrote:Wow that Rhytmus synth, finally a vst that does the classic cheesy organ drumbox rhythms! :)
I was reading through this topic and seeing everyone mention that they're having so much fun with Rhytmus, and I couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. At the same time I was working my way down the synth list (of this pack), but it's your post that made me fire it up before I'd reached it.

And as I just discovered this pack, there's nothing cheezy about it, this infact is the first (and faithful too) emulation of the Korg Minipops 7 drum synth - that Jarre used to such great effect on Oxygene and Equinoxe.
What kills about the emu is that it emulates the flaw that the original Minipops 7 had. You could press two or more rhythm selection buttons at once and thus combine rhythms, creating something not heard before. Jarre used this trick for Oxygene 2 and 4.

This emu alone should fetch $100, for sheer brilliance and the amount of work that's gone into it.

The prices of this thing (the real Minipops 7) on Ebay, throughout Europe, are nuts. Modded or unmodded.

This dev really deserves a chance to continue making plugs. Imo the best outta nowhere set of plugs ever.

Haha yes, the video is very down to earth and very 'slow/leisurely'.

While the music is out of this world and fast paced.

Only one of the rarest synths in history.

Oxygene wouldn't have been possible without this synth.

It's the first additive synth in the world.

The RMI Harmonic Synthesizer and it's sister synth the RMI Keyboard Computer sound unlike any other synth ever made. Though they have the capability to sound just like a normal analog synth, it's their non-subtractive timbres that really blow you away, because they still manage to sound 'warm/analog/organic'.

Aye, and lets hope doesn't get 'convinced' into ceeding control of his wares again if he develops any more plugs in the future.
He deserves much better than that.

Why does Rhythm not run without pressing a key? It would be nice and useful you could implement it.

Yep :) What makes me laugh a lot is the close up shots, with Jarre turning around and his hair falling into place :D :D It looks like the director thought they were filming a clip with some cute actor and intended for young teenage girls - nothing to do with the genre at all :o

Wow... that's the one that does the fast sequence halfway thru part 5, right?

Yeah the second part of O5 is all RMI + Eminent lead. Not bad at all for an additive synth!
There's 5 sequences running in all. One of those could be a hand played sequence that was looped on tape, because it sounds a lot like a string synth.
Also no one has yet discovered just where exactly he used his Farfisa on the album and as it was heavily modded, this 'string' sequence could come from it.
But since the RMI is also capable of string sounds, I wouldn't be too surprised if he used the RMI for all 5.

All you old-gear junkies (and I count myself in that category) should get the JMJ Oxygene 30th Anniversary DVD "Live in Your Living Room". Basically It's the complete Oxygene set, with a few additional parts, recored 'live' in a warehouse, JMJ with 3 other musicians using all the original intruments. The extra's include a talk through the instruments by JMJ.

And just to get back on topic - the plug-ins are great and no problems here with Cakewalk Sonar.

Cheers,
Glyn
