I think the original patches were done either on a EMS Synthi AKS or EMS VCS3.

I recreated them on KX77FREE's Kx-Synth-X16 matrix modular synth since it is free.

For the seagulls patch, maybe somebody can recreate it on Arppe2600 with the help of the ARP 2600's patch book that you can find in http://www.oldschool-sound.com/index.php?rub=3

It is patch #49: "Johnathan Synthesized Seagull" under Natural Sounds.

Managed to fix this by editing the patches in a hex editor and changing something in there.

But before I remembered to try the file edit method, I went and recreated your Kx-Synth-X16 patch on my AVS from scratch: http://hyperfileshare.com/d/48ea894a
I'd say that's as close as you can get.

I managed to recreate the seagull, but on the Timewarp2600, both my way (some time ago) and the patch book way.
It's a pretty easy sound to get, one just has to nail the right slider amounts, as is the case for many ARP2600 sounds.

Yes I think we do. Open the patch in a text/hex editor and change the "EMSV" to "EMSD". That should work for your version.

I posted a demo of the patch in a musical context.

Here is a version of Oxygene 6 I created while commuting to/from work so don't expect a great quality mixing

That lead on the album sounds a lot like an organ, you can definitely hear that he put some percussion on it (as you would on an organ), good use of the RMI.
