Don't have Gladiator to compare :D Are you thinking about buying one of these two?

You'll probably no doubt get opinions of both from people using Largo and people using Gladiator saying such and such is best..it always happens here.
Go try Gladiators demo because Largo don't have one yet.

Rob :)
I have Gladiator for two years yet. :) And it was only synth in use. It's fine synth, but there is some irritating issues forcing me to review this synth. That is why I'm so curious. Don't have money for Largo, but if i sell G2 then ....
Largo no demo so far.

Take my word for it..Largo is excellent full stop..if your not sure though stick with what you have then you can't go wrong.. :)

I'm in the same boat as you Igro. I've been thinking of replacing Gladiator with Largo. The demos and videos I've watched/heard of Largo so far are quite impressive, especially the filters, it has such a phat and unique sound...they just sound incredible! Also the GUI looks beautiful and I can imagine it being a joy to program.

The VA Largo is capable of with these filters, even makes me wonder if it would also replace my Sylenth aswell..

Add to that, it's also a very capable drum synth (thanks Rob for the demos).

So..as you can tell, I'm almost sold :hihi: A demo would be nice still, but I think if I heard more of the gentler side of Largo I'd probably purchase anyway. It obviously can do amazingly phat and edgy basses, leads etc..I just want to hear some more pads, keys. I'm also wondering how well it would do bell type sounds, I should imagine it's quite capable.

Hi it does all of what you ask..Bells/Pads/etc

It's excellent for Atmospheric stuff too..The pads that can be created are simply amazing..You can use Lfo/Fm to granulate the waveforms and there's so so many modulation routing options..Filters are the best on any instrument.
The GUI is the best on any Vst...and it's some size too :)

Hope this helps

I meant to add..

I think Gladiator is capable of producing a much broader palette of sounds than Largo, you only have to compare features to realise that, and Gladiator's features will continue to expand.

Anyone who may own both Sylenth and Largo. If you had to choose.Which one and why? 8)

I don't know anything about Gladiator so i can't compare..I only know about Largo and that it suites me fine for everything i need to do and more so i can't verify feature comparisons on the two synths.. :)

Oh, you're just teasing the money out of my pockets

But seriously..

How would you rate Largo's VA capabilities vs Sylenth1? I believe you've programmed sounds on both, right?

I don't own Sylenth either but i have owned it previously and did a sound bank for it..
Having owned Sylenth i can say it is an excellent piece of software.

Largo definatley has more features and better filters but that's ok because i think Lennard will impliment all new modulation/routing facilitie's on the next version which will the hopefully put it alongside Largo as one of my all time favs :)

PS

Iv'e owned Waldorf gear for as long as i can remember so maybe im bias but certainly Sylenth 1 and Largo would be my only desert island companions if that answers your question..

Ive had a Blofeld and now have Gladiator 2. They are quite different sounding - Gladiator defaulting to a softer sound - less agressive and spikey. Also Gladiator is a little more 'hi-fi' with quite a bit of treble freqs in the output. Although there is a huge amount of similarities - the Waldorf will give you more spikey powerful sounds due to the punchy Waldorf envelopes (hence the excellent drum sounds). Also - the Blofeld Comb filters were seriously good - whereas on Gladiator they are not so powerful and lively. I would say there is room for both synths as Gladiator has much more timbre options thru HCM.

If you like quite edgy punchy sounds Largo will likely suit you, and if you like smoother and more varied sound - Gladiator 2...but thats a very broad generalisation mind...

There you go Igro take your pick :) Also i agree that Largo is infact capable of being an excellent drum machine too..
