I have both and they complement each other very well. Sylenth1 has a perfect analog sound and the hypersaw oscillators but it lacks the wavetables and some other features of Largo. The amount of LArgo's features is impressive IMO. Largo maybe sounds a bit less "analog" than Sylenth1 and lacks the hypersaw oscillators but it has wavetables and many more features.

Conclusion: My actual ultimate synth combination is Largo for VA and wavetables, Sylenth1 for pure analog and hypersaw sounds and Alchemy for all the rest.

Why would'nt Largo do Hypersaw?

Largo = 4 Layers - 12 Oscs + 8 Sub Oscs and each Layer = 18 Oscs in 6 voice Unisono Mode + 2 Sub Oscs which with 4 Layers active add up to 80 voices when all active with 8 Filters (2 per layer)x 8fx in multi-mode x 4 arps..

Sylenth does just as good a job though in the Hypersaw department...

And yet one more comparison until the demo comes since Largo sounds like a nice VA for us to have.. How about the TI vs. Largo, I found this video comparing filters,would anyone who own both go as far as saying the Largo is better then the TI/or in the same league,mainly concerned with pads,bells,leads in this video the filters sound pretty damn amazing fwiw I've owned a few TI's but sold them off..

I watched that video last night too, the filter really is very impressive sounding. I've never owned a Virus, but I would be interested to hear some thoughts about the comparisons.

I'm so itching to order Largo right now.....must............resist.......

Ok. Sylenth1 has 4 oscillators which each could do 8 saws for the hypersaw. That's already 32 saws on ONE voice. If You layer four instances of Sylenth1 you have 128 saws. more than enough but i doubt you could hear the difference. In the Virus TI some times 4 saws are enough for a perfect sound. And basically Sylenth1 has 2 layers with 2 OSCs and one filter each. So far for the math. In my opinion the result with a "real" hypersaw is always better than with a unison mode.

I agree that Largo could come close to that sound but with a high unison setting the polyphony has to be increased which leads to a high CPU load.

UPDATE: I just did a small test with Largo. Patch: "Poly - a-b-c jdm", polyphony at 20 voices, Ableton Live 8.0.3, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600.

result: without unison and 3 notes played (= 3 voices total): 7-9% CPU load. with 6 voice unison and 3 notes played (= 18 voices total): 26-28% CPU load. This means around 9% for each 2 voices of unison.
Sylenth1 with 3 notes and 8*4 = 32 saws also needs about 20-25% but this is 96 voices in total !!

11% on an i7 920 - That's a beautiful sound

Edit: More like 8%. I'd forgotten than I'd copied the 1st layer to the other 3. Interesting how little 'extra' additional layers seem to cost.

Thanks Igro. Seems Thomman is cheaper then, when I add Largo to the shopping cart at Schmidt, 31.77 euro is added after, which I assume is tax since they say no shipping fees..

I have both Gladiator2 and Largo and I have to say that Gladiator2 has a lot of patches much more "worked" and Largo's Bank is not specially good. I'd say is very poor.

Potentially Largo is better than Gladiator2 but if We 're talking about Only Factory Patches Gladiator2 wins.
