I'm sure, "no" is the right answer..

I'm sorry, it is for now. It just makes not so much sense, as most people really like to add some samples
at least. Btw, if you not use samples loops, it really adds not much clutter, just make yourself a synth-only-startup kit and go from there, all you have then is a "sampler" entry in the generators lost and the loop-tabs on top, ommit these and you are there :-)

Peter, the selection of samples supplied with RMV are overwhelming. It is not possible to build your own kits and store them so that you can backup your work without also backing up the gigabytes of supplied samples. One massive collection of kits, pads and samples is hard to manage. Tranferring just your own frequently updated kits between computers is impractical also.

Is a feature for multiple locations for 'RM V Drum Addiction' each location containing its own 'RM V MIDI', RM V Kits' and RM V Pads' folders possible? That way I could build my own separate RM V Drum Addiction folder and only need to backup or transfer that.

Linplug did this already. It's called CM-505. :hihi:

Bryan,
not really. I see where you come from, and I will keep that as an idea for a possible future feature. Currently its expected that the library might grow, but now tailoring.

hi

thanks for the reply peter
was just looking for a less "intense" product
i like the sound of the synth engine is all

it sounds different to cm505 to me
more punch and weight

CM-505 is a stripped down RMIV, so basically 2 generations behind RMV, you _should_ hear this :-) Got your point Dave!

Post

hey peter

i think there's some mileage in a stripped down synth engine
maybe with a simple sequencer section
i've tried most things, and there's not really anything around any more...
most peeps are still using products that are not being supported/developed any longer
i think your synth modules sound great
but the rest does my head in

I hear you :-)

@Dave

Yes, the drum synths are great and I think that's the big plus about the RMV.
You can use samples and drum synths in one GUI.

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing as the OP.

Peter, while the market is choked with VAs and samplers, this is hardly the case with pure drum synths: it seems like making that wonderful RM drum synth engine available @ a modest price point creates an opportunity to make more LinPlug users (and upgrade paths).

Yes Audiorealism and d16 both produce drum synths, but they are Roland emulations. And as much as we all love 808 clones, it is nearly 2010... it would be nice for a drum synth of a different flavor. For unique, non-emulated drum synths from established developers I can only think of the very old (but lovely) Waldorf Attack (which does not support Vista) and the old-ish (but lovely) Sonic Charge µTonic... and neither synth has seen a major update in years.

Then of course you have products that have both drum synths and samples, like yours and the BPM. I think it is safe to say that people love drum synths. I have read more than one review of RMV and BPM that singled out the inclusion of a drum synth as a huge bonus (and I have seen many, many people bitch that Maschine did not... and people have started to say the same thing about Guru). I would love to see the RM drum synth as its own instrument with a dedicated GUI myself, and I am guessing the OP and myself are not alone in this.

Just my two cents of course. 8)

Cheers,

BBJ

I'd love to see the drum synthesis engines in a separate product too ;)
