Exactly !!

Come on, it's a Waldorf synth. Did they ever produce bullshit ??? It's made in Germany. That should be enough.

Oops, the Virus TI is also from Germany. No stable synth after OS 3.0.3. I apologize...

I still hate myself that i sold my Waldorf Q keyboard (32 voices !!) and a Microwave XT desktop for buying a Virus TI...
If i could choose a hardware synth for around 2000-3000 euros now i would buy an Andromeda, a Waldorf Q+ Phoenix or wait for the Waldorf Stromberg (including the two analog expansions). A second hand Waldorf Wave would be nice too...
A real PPG Wave 2.3 would be fun too but those units are so unstable that you must have replacement parts in stock !!

Potentially Largo is better than Gladiator2 but if We 're talking about Only Factory Patches Gladiator2 wins.

I'm working on a bank and I will put a demo in short.........
I don't think the factory presets of the Largo are poor at all! They are a good starting point. I don't understand why people complain about factory presets or if another synth is 50 euro cheaper or 20% less cpu-intensive. I NEED TOP SOUNDQUALITY! And at this point Largo sets a new standard

Nothing wrong with the Factory presets at all in Largo..Personally i like to create my own, it don't matter what synth it is im working with.
I don't know anything about Gladiator or most other synth as i don't own much software coming from a hardware background so i can't compare but what i will say is that iv'e owned Waldorf hardware for as long as i can remember and all have served me well so i would immediatley purchase any synth hard/soft that the company produced..
As for presets in general...it's all about how you use the tools provided as to whether or not you get a great preset or just a plain boring one.. :)

I still think that factory presets are poor, not all, but it has its weakness.

I repeat myself, people like Access Virus mainly by the presets. Thats the truth for the mayority of users

You have to do presets for all styles and more well organised.

In this demo I created you can hear a few presets with 50% of potential of Waldorf mainly I am not a pro sounds designer.

I'm a bit worried about this eLicenser thing... I mean, what happens if my computer naffs up and I have to reformat, or when I buy a new PC?

Post

Any dongle, or does it have to be a special one?

What if my computer goes tits up?

Post

The serial number is on the dvd cover..if computer FNUKS UP then just reinstall and type it in again :)
or better still buy a dongle and transfer the licence onto it so ant reinstalls are straight forward..
Ah also Largo is resellable :) Nein transfer fees :) :)

When I did the eLicenser shit it said the product key was now invalid - so I doubt I could use it again. And if I put it on a dongle I'll have to have it in the PC all the time, won't I? I guess that's not so bad.

It does sound very, very lovely, though. Mm.

Mine is on the dongle mate..much easier aswell..if you wanna sell Largo then the user gets the licence on the key aswell..but yes it's so much easer to transfer to a dongle. :)

Can it be any dongle, then? Or a special Syncrosoft one?

Sorry to clog this thread up with rubbish, guys.

Nah, you just need to be willing to open them up. The biggest trouble with them is that they have a bunch of circuit boards that are connected together by ribbon cables that use IC sockets for connection. These things are constantly coming loose and need to be re-seated. If I had any sense, I'd have mine hardwired together. Don't fear the PPG. It wants to be loved. :hihi:
