Hi Redline and welcome

This is not normally my kind of dance music as I prefer stuff a bit darker. Thing is you've managed to pull off a more uplifting sound in a major key without it sounding poppy or shite, nicely done

A few things I noticed were pretty standard for a trance track :-

The kick is too low in the mix, have you got the bassline sidechainied to it or have you put a high pass filter on any of the parts?

The synth parts could take a lot more reverb if it's applied carefully, some of the leads could use more delay as well, use a ping pong delay with the spatial setting set to max.

Another bassline would work well, the one you already have could be low cut quite a lot and turned into a rhythmic bassline and you could use a punchy lower sound with a different pattern to add some low energy. Careful to to conflict with the kick though.

The percussion works as it is but I think if you added some hats, shakers or other sort of short and subtle percussive hits set to a 16th note pattern you'd add some energy to the mix even further. You could sidechain this channel to the kick or something to really get some rhythm into it.

I didn't even think using another bassline, but now when you mentioned it, that might work very well.

It's worth thinking about bassline first when you create this kind of track. You've got to consider how you're going to EQ with the kick. You want the bassline to be both deep and energetic but also percussive and rhythmic. It's very difficult to get one bassline to do all that so why not seperate them out? Have a look at this excellent trance tutorial :-




He also touches on sidechaining a little bit I think

Cubase is a great DAW, im using Studio 4. I'm not sure what the features of Essential 4 are but you could probably uspgrade to Studio 4 for very little money these days. I paid less than £100 for my version about 8 months ago which was a while before 5 was released.

Nice lead! I'm listening to some 99/00 tracks, and this lead sent me directly to that period! Nice memories!

Arrangement is classic Trance. Does a great job for the track. However, the drums are too weak, and doesn't support the track properly.

A better drum part, and your track becames perfect.
