I'm randomising right now, although we're off to Orkney for two weeks in a few days to molest puffins, scarper round Scapa, and whatnot, so if I can't get my head round it by the weekend I might be mssing out on the excitement this time.

Hey, nice to see this!
Of course I have not the time to participate, but I can't wait to listen to the tracks...
PS. "sampler of the host perimitted"? Doesn't this break the rule that we all should use free tools? But the real thing to say is: Is it neccessary to determine if the sampler is freeware or not, since at the same time you say that the sampler should be used only for playback?

Dear All,
OK, the first submission - I'm an honest chap and this breaks some of our rules. The track is called Forbidden Planets as a result
What have I done naughty? First up, it includes use of the Kjaerhus Chorus module on a couple of sounds. It also uses two gates and an Xoxos mutant arp like thingy. The gates don't change the actual sound used but the chorus does - pretty subtle though. The Xoxos module also doesn't affect the sounds used.
Lastly EQ is from my Fruity DAW which has it inbuilt on each track automatically. Even if it is unused it would still be there regardless - so I've used it. Naughty boy.
By all means flame, shame, disqualify me - I really don't mind. This is more about having a bit of fun for me doing something I normally wouldn't do. I'll say now, leave me out of the prize fund automatically regardless - can't say fairer than that.
Told you I was honest
Anyway, enjoy this very eccentric track. All sounds put together in the VST version by yours truly - no random buttons for me
I look forward to some equally bonkers stuff from the regulars
There's a heavy sub on this and as my er, "monitors" are a pair of Yamaha computer speakers and a £2 secondhand sub from Ebay I'm not that sure what it will sound like on a "proper" system. The ultimate budget set up
Best wishes to all,
Mouxbar

Nice bass, and there's a sound I really like that I can't really give a name.
Otherwise it is a bit monotonous/minimal for my taste.
I'll prob throw together something in the following days, just figured out a workaround for the VST version so I don't need to use a sampler

Huhu! Made "something" today.
Not really a pice of Music + short (1.40~) but... it's some audio :3
Created in: Cubase Studio 5 (but haven't made use of any internal effects)
Used: 24 instances of SFXR
Err... not. Havent used the VST-Version,
so i made 24 waves insted and loaded them with
the free sfz player)
(Can upload the presets and the waves if someone cares)
Free things used:
-> Sfz (for Velocity and playback)
-> outdoorverb (given and own made presets)
(Downloaded some time ago... don't know where...?)
-> AfterShockDelay (downloaded tody on kvr Plug-in-Database)
My first Track made with a synth-thing + im only 20 years old
so be nice :3
PS: I also uploaded a txt file but it's shown 0Kb to me?

Does anyone have problems with the VST version making a constant clicking noise? Is it just a Cubase 5 issue?

Hmmm .... appears to be a problem previewing the text files at the moment! I suspect this will sort itself out .... things like this happen now and again, ( site maintainance? ) ... the info is on there though, so dont worry. if its not sorted out soon, I'll just ask everyone to post their info on this thread ... we'll give it a chance though.
Madpsyance, I haven't noticed a constant clicking noise in FL .... hope you can get it sorted!
.... right, back to giving those tracks an ear!

Nope, it seems both the VST and application version can both start clicking at times although when I did hear it, it was normally just a click or two playing in the actual patch - mainly down to some of the settings being able to cause a click. "Sustain Punch" on the VST seemed to be the usual cause in my experiments but others could easily do the same.MadPsyance wrote:Does anyone have problems with the VST version making a constant clicking noise? I did get some faint background noise at times as well which is maybe what you referring to as this was pretty cyclic...
As said I'm an FL user so I'd say it is likely the plug that is the issue and we aready know from experience that it is not the finished article
Best of luck,

Bloody school holidays!!! .... My home studio has to be more home than studio for the next 6 weeks! .... Add to that, got a '6 gigs in 7 days' scenario coming up ....So if I'm not around as much as you think I should be, dont worry, I'll be keeping tabs at least! ... keep bumping the thread, be good to get as many folks on board as we can!
