i'll not allege to really different. i managed to get one of the stochastic algs, lorenz or such, going a while ago. if i remember the alg has a pitch ceiling which the oversampling shall improve, and managed a fairly stable fundamental with evolving harmonics. i haven't seen them on other vst yet.

someone recently requested an updated mass-springs vst, so i oversampled and extended the current algorithm (i've managed to tune the frequency of a first order mass-spring since mass and cymbal, in series the fundamental drifts), this is what it sounds like.
imo while it is a 'clearer render' i don't think it improves the instrument significantly, beyond the pitch tracking. the oversampling aliases less, which produces the ringing tones.. the aliasing is practically more useful for emulation after filtering, at a lower cpu expense.
i seem to be of a more 'make things available' than 'sell cool' operating framework. i should put some filters on those lorenzes and charge forty nine ninety five.

oversampling the lorenz oscillator was fun, the algorithm doesn't track pitch, and at audio rate a bit of wibbly noise accomplishes the same thing, so no lorenz oscs.RunBeerRun wrote:I would buy some cool oscillator modules. Really different stuff.
