I'm wondering that too!Revson wrote:Still very interested in this Miroslav and orchestral stuff...any news?Squids wrote:Not sure about the plug-in but content from the archives of Miroslav Vitous, including the extra material I've mentioned in the past, will be available as ala carte downloads in a variety of sampler formats exclusively on www.downloadablesoundz.com It will be there early 2009. Some fancy programming with key switching and all sorts of interesting stuff will be developed with that material as well as Sonic Reality orchestral material (including a surround orchestra) so... hang in there. We've got some great orchestral sounds coming up!
Any chance of a Miroslav Philharmonik update?

orchestral libraries were really happening back in 2005 but since then it has become ho hum. before that there was just gigasampler and the odd collection of some brass here and some strings there with a couple incomplete woodwinds libraries. Then GPO, EWQLSO, Sonic Implants, Kirk Hunter, Symphonic Instrument and finally Miroslav Phiharmonik.
then it all settled down rather quickly after EWQLSO XP. I feel that the only really interesting thing happening now is also a product that is beyond most hobbiests: Symphobia by Project Sam. That is a great idea and a great library.
if something like that could be offered for the poorer among us with good quality then I think it would sell. But not some rehashing of "Classical Wild Takes" (i have it. it's okay for what it is, not too useful).
i wonder just what else Miroslav sampled that is so great? from the suspense these last four years i would think it was a wealth of articulations or something.
and with all due respect to squids, i don't think a 'surround sound' string section is much to get excited about. sure it probably sounds really sweet but who needs that? unless your Hans Zimmer, who cares?
i think the symphobia thing is way long overdue. i suggested that whole concept to Maarten Spruit about 8 years ago in an email and his response was like "thanks--but who wants that?" and now here it is.
okay, so what more can we get for the sampletank version of the Miro? Why did we buy the sampletank version of this library only to have it abandoned for Kontakt which i was already using 4 years ago? Why not just offer a cheap crossgrade for the whole shibang from ST to Kontakt so we can enjoy further development of the library (if there really is so much choice source material as yet unreleased).
sorry if this post sounds cranky, that's not my intention. but what of the Miro?
