Tried the program on Ableton and FL - same result. Can anyone take a look at it for me?

Hi i only use Largo for drums as playing a chord/pad with only one layer shuts me down in sonar :(
Don't know why but it needs some cpu for pads and sustained sounds..drums are fine though with 4 layers active

I don't think i's my computer... it was working fine one minute, using 15-25 CPU, and then it went nuts.

That works for me, although I have to load it as a preset through Live, as Largo won't load it as a program. Sits around 10% CPU with 3 notes played on a core i7, OSX Leopard 10.5.7. Largo 1.1.0

Post

Hovers around 25% CPU for me, holding 4 keys. Pretty high for a single pad, turning Unison off knocked it down quite a lot, but it loses a lot of it's character.

I'm a little frustrated with Largo's high CPU requirements, this seems really common with the pads I've created..even some without Unison enabled...

Post

Goddam. I just re-created the pad. and it works again. I noticed that the EQ adds about 40 to my CPU. That's wack.

Post

Really? Largo's EQ does that? I just tested on your pad again, turned on and off the EQ and the CPU didn't move at all...something weird going on there..

Post

I have to agree.
Largo also maxes out my CPU with a selfmade Hypersaw (4 Layers, EQ, Unison and Delay).
Would be great, if the CPU usage would be optimized a bit.

Anyway, i hope that largo don't consume more than NI Massive.
In other hand, if quality is superb, then CPU high loading is not weird at all.

slowly you must understand that it's impossible to get better sound with the same cpu usage as 10 years ago.
quad cpu is very cheap now.

Absolutely true. And I'm too against lowering the quality just for getting low CPU loading.(Cos every developer will say to you, that CPU optimizations goes throw quality lowering) Sure the new great soft synths is forwarded to last processors.
Also from some persons above, Largo is not CPU hungry at all.

My system: Core2Quad 6600, 3.2 GB of RAM,Nvidia8800GT, XP Prof SP2 32bit and Cubase4.

I think that's alright...

Biggest problems seem to be the Delay, Reverb and of course unison.
But no problems there with other synths e.g. Reaktor 5.
I'm trying to find the best synth for Hypersaws.
