Yes, you can type values (I guess Waldorf knew it was fiddly otherwise!). But have you tried to type in 3/16ths? If not I'll let you guess what time appears...

It can handle typed values? Hmm, then I don't see the need of a million "built-in" rates...

And Ingo, I'm registered and stuff, but I couldn't figure out how to post on that damn forum. Although I'm getting to like the newsletter thing.

No offence Igro but that sounds pretty horrible.. and why on earth do you call it "sync" saw? There's no oscillator sync going on there, at least not in the typical manner. The resonance does sound pretty nice and the filter in itself but your example is just horribly much detuned and very common sounding, imho. Would be very hard to use that sound in any context due to it's large detune.

If "completely and utterly detuned" means fat for you then so be it.. to me it only means horribly out of tune.

just tried this this synth. i do not like it sam i am. i hate the ergonomics. thats what really irks me. and very very dumb of waldorf (or any synth developer to not include professionly presets) i think this synth blowsfield

Surely it does? I've seen a number of professional sound designers mentioned who made presets for it (inc DocT who is pretty much an expert on the Waldorf synths)

Hmm, I think you missed the wave changing... You see a number (127) at the waveform view. Click and hold with the mouse, and dragging up/down morphs the waveform.

As for forum posting, how am I suppose to mark the topic?

Pretty interesting synth, been messing with the demo this morning. Sounds really nice, covers a lot of territory without being TOO much of a CPU hog. The GUI is only so so for me, kinda of reminds me of Logic's synth, small text and kind of busy in a futuristic way. Kept running into a weird bug where the preset selector left and right buttons would randomly get stuck down until I closed the reopened the plug in, but otherwise no issues. Is there a randomize function anywhere, didn't find it. Also found the preset layout only so so, and the menu sorting options were.... unique to put it nicely.

Not sure if I'd choose this over say Massive, since they are both covering roughly the same sonic territory with the wavetable angle. I find the GUI and modulation set up on Massive to be better, so that's likely the route I'd choose.

i downloaded the demo.no problem at all with the licence it worked perfecly.
My first impression is:
overall nice synthetizer: good gui,sounds very good BUT...
few presets and really standard ones,nothing really new in synthesis methods or dynamics,browsing presets is really BORING.
not as good as MASSIVE,massive is way better.
is good as albino and predator maybe.
very CPU hungry
not worth the money imho

Just my few words about Waldorf in general.

Anyone remember Attack, PPG and D-POLE ? I know, these are old synths (and FX) no one really care about now but some time ago they had great reviews in every magazine so I guess people were buying them and then... company disappeared - I dont know the exact story but it was bought by Steinberg. You had no support from Waldorf anymore. You had to buy it from Steinberg which had his own updates for these products. Then Walderf appeared again so Steinberg support stopped - in this moment you expect to have updates from the company who wrote it? NO - If you bought Steinberg version - waldorf updates wont work. Hmm...

Anyone have Komplexer - same story - expensive synth which died becouse of no support.

Now look at NI instruments - you have always some choice - updates and upgrade paths.

I would like to really hear what Waldorf guys have to say about it. You can think - who cares about Attack and others - Largo is new and its supported - think twice - would you like to use LARGO after two years ? brobably YES and then you can be surprised...

My impression of the demo:

My favorite thing is the light CPU. I don't know what everyone talking about heavy cpu.
The sound can be pretty cool. Many of the presets are similar though, with a grungy, distorted digital sound. I much prefer the sound of Massive myself, more versatile.

Seems like boys have really fuc..d computers. Cos even on my DUAL CORE it's light on CPU.
