Bypassed racks generate sound after another rack is muted

Hi,

I've noticed that if I have some racks muted, then I solo a rack that is not muted, when I turn the solo off, some of the racks that are muted now pass sound through, even though the rack status still shows muted. Stopping and restarting the engine seems to fix the problem.

Thanks!

Not quite sure about your problem, but to silence plugins you should try the suspend option in racks. Not muting plugins sound output while muting a rack is intentional, so sustain phases of sounds will not be cut when you do well organized subsession changes.

Thanks TiUser,

Sustain is not the problem. When the rack is muted, if I play NEW notes, the new notes are actually producing sound from the muted rack AFTER I have soloed and then un-soloed a different, non-muted rack. I suppose suspending might take care of this, but that seems like a workaround. Seems like the VSTi in the muted rack should not be producing new sounds as I press keys? Hmm.

Hi thereynolds,

Definitely sounds like a bug but I've been trying to reproduce it here and not found any issues.

Any chance you can send me a session file that demonstrates the problem? (you can get my email address from http://www.cantabilesoftware.com/contact).

Also, any other information on you setup might help too. eg: are you using triggers, MIDI routings, keyboard splits, MIDI filters etc...
