IK Multimedia Amplitube changing DigitalIDs

Yesterday I installed Safari 4. Reboot. Open ARC, guess what: 'Your trial period is over!' Aaaaarggghhhh!!!!!

And the static you're talking about. Now I know what was the cause of this:

Add me to the list with Sampletank 2.5.2 XL, got a tech on it.Apparently its happening to a lot of us 10.5.7 users.I am out of authorizations because of this crap.I asked for a resolve, if not IK is gone from my life.

Logic 7.2.3/8.02 MBP 2.4SR 4 GB 160 HD no bluetooth or ethernet enabled, only wireless.Recent clean install of everything for Logic 8.My system is clean as a whistle and maintained as such.

Hi all,
Same problem here with Amplitube 2, it keeps switching between 2 digital IDs on OSX 10.5.7. IK very kindly added 5 more auths to my account (hopefully I won't need them) and it is a little annoying to keep entering the authorisation code but I've saved them to a text file and just paste the relevant one in...

Hey Stuart,

I've already asked my support guy what the deal is with the other Amplitubes (I exclusively use X-Gear), but the word is that the others are going to be updated somewhere in the coming weeks. So hang on, and check out the updates. In the meantime you can use X-Gear as a "switchbox" for Amplitube. It's a bit of an overkill if you only use Amplitube, but that one doesn't have the ID switches anymore.

Now the others, and the last problem I have (the static thing mentioned in another thread) and I will be a happy man.

I am done with using IK Multimedia stuff. They've updated the X-Gear program so it won't crap out on DigitalID stuff, but not any of the other programs. All I get to hear is "soon", "this week", etc. The other problem I had with static (see other thread) is also a continuing saga where no answers are forthcoming. Not to mention the answers themselves... You send an email, and if you're lucky you'll get an answer in a week or so.

They did one thing good though, they pointed me to Randall amps. I've ordered a new set of amps from them. No more virtual guitar for me!

Caveat: I'm a PC user.

I've never had a problem with any of my IK software (ST2XL, SS2, Philharmonik, Samplemoog, CSR, T-Racks and Ampeg Uno) losing authorization unexpectedly.

i actually have had issues with this on a pc (vista/win7) as well, but never on my 10.4/10.5 macbook.
with windows, periodically, i'd have to re-authorize. several programs would just "lose" their key. this includes serial-protected software like zebra2. what it came down to was windows users account control changes that were implemented post-xp. i disabled UAC, and have not had issue since.

For those users experiencing any related Authorization issues after updating to 10.5.7 or 10.5.8, this update will resolve the problem!

On a side note, testing within the new Snow Leopard has proved great so far, for any of those who are thinking of making the move.
