Can you run Cantabile on a 32bit machine to access 32bit plugins from a 2nd 64 bit cubaSe daw??

Post

Um, not really sure what you're getting at. Care to elaborate?

You might be better off using Steinberg VSTLInk
(if they still implement it)
or FXTeleport.
FXTeleport forum reports it works with x64 OS.
HOWEVER, BACK TO CANTIBLE.....
I read up at their website.
Read some stuff about Telnet.
But I am still confused.
What is the best way to sync up two PCs using Cantible 2.0 ?

Post

To answer some of these questions:

* Cantabile doesn't have any built in support for streaming audio/MIDI between two PC's. For that you'll need something like what GraphMan suggested - VST System Link or FX Teleport - or physical audio/midi cables.
* You can synchronise time and transport with Cantabile Performer using MTC (ie: MIDI Clock). Cantabile can work as master or slave in this situation.
* The telnet interface to Cantabile is for software developers who want to write third party applications that control Cantabile and allows operations such as loading sessions, switching subsession, finding out the current sub-session list, controlling anything that's MIDI assignable etc... eg: it could be used to write an iPhone app that wirelessly controls Cantabile running on a box "out the back" somewhere. Currently there are no apps that use this but some under development. It's also used in a couple of custom installations that I can't discuss due to NDA agreements.

Hope this clears things up.
