No, just install the new version over it and it's all set.

Thans UMD I have a lot of faith in you..I think what you are working on is something revolutionary and I think with time your program will be working stable.
I have tried the jbridge for about one hour now. I am using Sonar 8.3 64 bit with bitbridge and windows 7 64 bit with an RME HDSPe AIO soundcard.
My experience with jbridge so far is quite good, I an understand this is a beta, and there is things that do no work. However there is an enormous and revolutionary potential in this program! It does open up many doorways for the future, especially now with core i7 and 64 bit os and cheap ram memory.
I use 12 GB memory and was not very satisfied with bitbridge...to many problems..sometimes I feel it was a stupid choice to buy that amount of ram, sine bitbridge does not work in satisfying way as I thought. However Jbridge and it's potential future change all of that...I now think that I will soon be able to use all my 12 gb DDR3 in my musical projects..I use a lot of samples, so I am in a big need of the ram capacity.
The experience I have so far is that unlike with bitbrige, at least jbridge will open almost all vsts I have tried so far...however something that does not work on MANY plugins is loading prests, usually the presets roll list is not visible...Voxengo plugins and sonalksis plugins seem to have these problems...
On audioease Cabinet VST the narrow/wide knob was greyed out, soon after auxhost.exe crashed.
Omnisphere did after some time also cause auxhost.exe to crash. So there seem to be some kind of stability problems still.
In every VST window (win 7) The window size is not locked...I can always drag and expand the window size if I put the mouse on the edges of the window, The window size should be locked and fixed.
When I discover more problems I will report them here...
At last I need to know, does Waves plugins works in jbridge ?
I have the Mercury bundle, which is one of my primary plugins I use and very important.

Hi!
This is not in beta state anymore.
Regarding your crashes, the first thing you should try is enabling/disabling the "use thread safety measures...". Some plugins will crash without it, others will crash with it.
Regarding the presets problem, could you name a specific plugin that exhibits that problem so I can check it out?
Thanks

Yes, the plugins I tried was Voxengo Soniformer, vonxengo TapeBus (part of the Analogflux Suite). Sonalksis SV-315 Mk2 Compressor (you can still change the preset, but the the roll list is not visible on the top of the window). URS Strip Pro.umd wrote:Hi!

To me this seem to be an global problem, since I have not seen any plugin that have the preset roll list on top of the window visible. On many plugins you can still change prestes buy push at the "preset" button, however this is a more non-flexible way to load presets, it is much faster to switch presets with the roll list.
In Sonar Bitbridge, the roll list works...

In Jbridge, roll list is not visible...

At last, the window size is not locked...which makes it possible to drag it out..

Oh, I see what you mean.
The preset selection is in the other window ( the one with the "Hey, where's the GUI" button ). The plugin's window belongs to a separate process, that's why it has to be that way.
Regarding the GUI sizing, yeah, it should not happen, I have to fix that.

Thanks for the info. I see the presets now, but there is no way to put the prests in the same window as in vst window ?
It feels much more flexible to have it all in the same window just like with BitBridge. Anyway thanks for still working and improving on this program, if you proceed like this I think both cubase and sonar and maybe more DAWs will include your program instead of BitBridge in future version, in other words, your progress with this program is very very important for a lot of people.

There isn't, at least with the current implementation.(...)I see the presets now, but there is no way to put the prests in the same window as in vst window ?(...)

Alright UMD, I have found another problem in sonar 8.31 64 bit using jbirdge.
The problem happens in VST Omnisphere, every time I load a new sound or preset in Omnisphere the audio engine in sonar will stop, so every time I load a new sound in Omnisphere I have to push the audio engine on/off button in sonar.
I have tried using Sonar's bitbrige aswell, I can load as many sounds as I want during playback, the audio engine will not stop and the playback will not be interrupted. I hope we can fix this, good luck.

Could you tell me if it makes any difference if you enable or disable the "thread safety measures..." option?
Thanks.

It did solve the problem...I think however I did try that before..but maybe I had to restart jbridge.
It is strange, Omnisphere is such a new program that I know have good multithread support... it is strange that ""thread safety measures." does not work.

UMD, do you have any plans to make any kind of "plug and play" function, that will autodetec the correct settings for each plugin, by testing it in the program... instead of trial and error..
I see not all plugins are stable with the default settings etc...
Altiverb did crash with the default settings... I think it is just very hard to know what the correct settings is that I should use for each plugin in... It is trial and error... but I wish the program itself could detect what settings it should use...
And one last thing while using Omnisphere I was first surprised by the high CPU usuage... it was about 45-60% on an overclocked core i7 (3.5 GHZ), and when I did put on the performence mode the cpu usage did get down to 4%, is this really normal to have such radical difference in cpu usage with this setting ?
And regarding Performence mode, does this add any kind of latency or is it have any other side effects..

Hi.
As you may understand, there's thousands of plugins out there, and I can't predict how they'll behave. There's no way of testing them automatically, it will always have to be the user to find the best settings.
Regarding performance mode, it will add one buffer of extra latency. It's normal to see a ( apparent ) cpu usage drop in your main host, because the processing is done at a more "convenient" time period for it, so to speak.

How much latency is added in performance mode ?
I try to keep my latency as low as possible..

It will depend of the current buffer size, if you have, for example, 128 samples, you'll have 128 * 2 samples of latency in performance mode.
