Amplitube X-gear support: Dont know where else to turn

Hello everyone,
I got into IK Multimedia's Amplitube line because of the wonderful group buys from Esoundz, and up until recently everything worked fine! However, I've run into a problem and dont know where else to turn. Note: I did send IK a bug report but have yet to hear anything back yet.
I was happily using X-gear to automate parameters of Amplitube, JH, & Metal using X-gear's "automation learn" features, until I discovered that that wah in metal would not automate. So I check IK's website, and sure enough they have an updated version of X-gear 1.3.1 which was said to fix this issue. So I download, install, and low and behold, ALL automation no longer works!! I cant get a single thing to react to automation, even parameters that before the update worked fine!! What happened?!
Anyone else have this problem?! The fix was dated April 30th, so I would hope that if there is indeed a bug that a fix would be out by now! I'm running Logic 8.0.2 on a PPC G5 running OS 10.4.11. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Anyone know of any official/unofficial IK support groups, or is this forum an ok place to post? Like I said, I dont know where else to turn.
Thanks in advance for your help and reply.

1.4 is available in your user area today-it actually has a number of bug fixes with our automation engine, and should help you solve things. One thing to make sure of though, make sure to uninstall 1.3.1-it can mess up your system if you just install 1.4 on top of it.
Let me know if this helps.
Cheers,
Drew

Thank you very much! I'm glad to see that IK has a presence here at KVR! Thats really cool!
Going to uninstall 1.3 and install 1.4 later tonight. Will report how it goes. Thanks again!

Hello again,
Looks like the latest update did not fix my problem. Automation works great in stand alone mode, but no longer works in logic 8.0.2 in either X-gear version 1.3 or the new 1.4. I reinstalled X-gear 1.2.1, and automation functionality again works in Logic. My only conclusion is that these updates have somehow broken automation controls in Logic.
I'm running Logic 8.0.2 on OS 10.4.11 on a Dual 2.5 PPC G5 w/ 7GB Ram.
Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

I emailed this information to tech support last wednesday and have yet to hear a reply. Hopefully this means IK is aware of the issue and currently working on a fix?
BTW, If you guys are currently fixing the issue with X-gear's automation no longer working in Logic, note that the ability to control automation while the plugin is on an insert would be GREATLY appreciated. Logic's own plugins can do this, but so far I have only been able to get X-gear 1.2.1's automation to work when inserted as an AU midi controlled FX (i.e. as if it was an instrument and not a plugin) which can cause routing issues when using it as part of a chain. If Logics plugins can be automated as inserts (they also have midi learn features as well) then I would hope that X-gear could be coded the same way. Thanks for listening.

I'm getting very frustrated with IK support... I have sent in two tickets in the past month and have not gotten back a single reply. A simple "no, this isn't supported" would be sufficient rather than silence. I have gotten back responses within 24 hours previously.

I did hear from IK support, apparently an issue with emails not getting to me or ending up in my spam folder or something. Special nod to Jason again for his quick response.

Still no reply yet from IK Tech support. How did you go about contacting them idragosani? I've tried twice replying to their emails but have yet to receive a reply. Perhaps my emails are not going through?

I filled out the form on the site. In the past I always got fast responses but the last couple times I didn't. Jason from IK support told me he had replied and sent me copies of the emails, maybe they are getting caught in spam filters? Dunno. I *did* always get the confirmation emails when I submitted the tickets originally.LGK_Dude wrote:Still no reply yet from IK Tech support. How did you go about contacting them idragosani?
