When at first i started the knobs tweaking, i found they just jumping and it was really hard to manipulate with them. I thought GUI is too slow. But in common mode i found "Control mode":

Yes, it's still bit slow( you see it when tweaking cutoff which is animate in small window), but i think by this, Waldorf tried to reduce CPU load, which is still better than lower the modulation update rate to reduce CPU loading(hence to killing all the snappiness of the envelopes).
It has nothing to do with this. The GUI is SLUGGISH, meaning, it is slow. When I drag an envelope node, it feels like my computer suddenly uses 99% CPU and gets slightly stuck. Same thing when I switch pages.. for instance from the Common page to the Envelopes page. Instead of switching immediately it feels sluggish and takes nearly a full second to happen! If I quickly press multiple page buttons I manage to light up about 4 buttons before the page has flipped.

Yes. I already talked about it earlier. CPU spikes when you are tweaking knobs. That's strange. I will try to automate some parameters and see what happen.

Well, I just got a response from Waldorf about the sluggish GUI:

Sorry, I can't reproduce this on my 2 PCs here (Cubase 4 + 5, Windows XP and VISTA)

Hmm, but i can't as well reproduce it in Oscillator section. There it works without any problems. It's sluggish only when i drag the whole window. And switch between Common, Effects, Arp.....

jap CPU jumps from 4% to 50% when the GUi is visible and I tweak a knob.

Maybe people with the GUI problem should post their CPU specs, Graphics card etc. to see if there's a pattern.

For me, the entire GUI is generally very sluggish. While draigging up / down to scroll through the waveforms, it's especially noticable. Dragging the GUI around is insanely slow here too.

My specs:

ASUS P5K-E
Intel Q6600 CPU
4 GB of Corsair RAM
Seagate SATA2 drives
nVidia 7600GT graphics
Echo Layla3G audio
Windows XP x32 OS
Cubase 4.5.2 DAW

No problems with a "sluggish" GUI here, also not when dragging the GUI around.

In Live 7 and 8 long before the project is overloaded and returns a crash error, the Lago GUI opens blank.

Is anyone getting the same problems with Live or other DAW?

I may be mistaken, but I saw nothing in the installer wizards to indicate a challenge/response is possible unless the DAW itself is connected to the internet.
To activate a demo/purchase using an internet-connected computer to receive an authorization code, and then transferring the correct required numbers from a confirmation email into the demo on the other computer (the DAW), would simplify things for those not wanting the needed phalanx of cpu robbing ant-virus-ware on a production computer.

There may be a good number of potential buyers who refuse internet access on their DAW.
Why a basic challenge/response requires a redundant internet connection is a mystery to me.

The copy protection works with Syncrosoft/eLicenser via the License Control Center (LCC). You can copy the license to the harddisk or to an USB dongle. If you have a dongle you can copy the license on another computer, take the dongle out and use it on your music production computer. You only must install the License Control Center on that computer. No internet connection of your DAW needed.

The eLicenser I have requires the DAW to be online, none of the wizards within it have
a working option. You copy the license from Waldorf, and it says to go on line to finish the deal. I'll delete that eLicencer in case it was some leftover from another app, and try again tomorrow. Cheers

Confirmed in XT2 as well. Need to be fixed really. Two of my heavy projects can't be finished due to this.
