Hey antto,
That track by cytospur sounds sweet. Heaps acid and groovy.
Would it be hard to resize the GUI for those with high res?
I'll come back after i've tried it. Thanks a bundle, i think it's gonna be a peachy addition. Maybe this question has already been answered, sorry if has, long thread.
Thanks
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

GUI too small: i know, not much to do about it, a huge change in the GUI means i have to spend more time (again) and i may fail to do it good..
i want to release the next version quick..

JediMind: next version should sound a little better ;]
thanks for using it and replying ;]
It doesn't matter how it sounds..
..as long as it has BASS and it's LOUD!

Nonono, it was a compliment! Seriously, I love the squelchy sound. There are just a few things that aren't quite right:
- you need to move the mouse a good deal for the switches to change.
- it lags a little when pressing play (Reaper 3.0)
- it doesn't seem in sync, visually

All in all, it's just great!

EDIT: BTW, did anyone notice the controls on the back :D That XY pad sure is nice.

i'm still saying that the next version should sound a little better ;]
the audio demo i posted is with a new moog filter variation, it's really good, it sounds definately better than my old filter from the beta version
and i'm tweaking a 303-filter code that was given to me by some really cool guys, i think it's even better than the moog, only that it's not well tuned (i'll struggle with that, i want it)
i'll try to improve the Gimmick circuit too in the next version..
so it'll be a little better ;]

i can't fix the switch/mouse response, it's how SE gui controls work, it's not so bad i think..
lag? hm.. i don't know, i think someone said he tested it in Reaper, not sure
not sync'ed? see if the AUTO tempo button is pressed down or not..

yup, the XY is good if you want to record automation with the mouse

What I mean is, it plays at the correct tempo, but if my pattern looks like this:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
C G D E B C D C
The interface will show the first C a good amount of miliseconds after I hear it.

Lagging issues are 99% surely related to the fact that I have a dual core processor and, AFAIK, there are some issues when it comes to SE plugins and multiple cores.

But take your time on the updates :)

i still don't understand
the GUI is lagging?
i made the synth on my machine with Core2Duo.. never experienced wierd stuff, only CPU meters look sort of wrong..

check this 303 filter, i added some little stuff, i *love* it
it sounds close to the moog filter, but it's a little bit better to my ears ;]

Yes, the GUI is lagging. I suspect that it's host-related, sadly.

Thanks anyway. I'll try this in another host.

Oh, and GREAT new filter!

Actually it isnt too bad on the slide switches that have more than two settings
But the two way switches are a nightmare
Why not just have them as click switchs SE supports this

JediMind: the GUI update rate is controlled by the VST host, Reaper seems to give very low priority to the GUI thread (for better DSP processing i guess)

NAS: yes, one thing i was thinkink was to make the 2 way switches with a click response..
thanks ;]

Yes, but the GUI is the least of my concerns. With or without the GUI in view, when I press play Reaper freezes for about 1-2 seconds before actually playing anything (and this is a nightmare when changing loop markers, for example)

It works flawlessly in VSTHost, though.

Good luck and thanks again :)

"when I press play Reaper freezes for about 1-2 seconds before actually playing anything"

ooh?
this is different.. sounds to me, like reaper saves the VST state and closes the vst when you press STOP, then when you press PLAY it reopens the vst and loads back the state (which normaly makes the VST initialize like it was loaded for the first time)
if i'm right - then i can't do much about it
my synth has to initialize some heavy stuff, it's slow, but i think other hosts save_and_close the VST only when project is closed, not on transport STOP..
the tables that are initialized are stored in memory and freed when the synth is closed, so i can't do much about this..
thanks for noting it
suggestion: either report this to the reaper forums or use another host..
hope this helps..

I know I'm disagreeing with most people when I say this, but I like the GUI. The switch controls should be click-to-activate probably instead of drag-across-the-screen. But I'm pretty used to it now. After I sat down and went through every part of it, its actually pretty easy to get around.

I use 1920x1280 on a 27" screen btw.

On the other hand, if you need some help with a larger GUI I might be able to help. Also, not to volunteer anyone, you could ask Grymmjack, I use a lot of plugins with GUIs he's designed.
