some new 'old time' stuff.. someone gave me their cd today
apparantly recorded on just old 50's gear.. sounds pretty raw -in a nice way
they also released it first on 78rpm single!

Okay, so call me stupid, but I never noticed before that the B52's song Planet Claire was based on the Peter Gunn theme. They totally ripped off that bass line:

It's a pretty basic bass line but that's totally the same one. Oh sampling!

They didn't use samplers when that song came out (they weren't available), they just played the exact same riff.
