Thanks for the props, bManic.
Of course, people buying now while AriesVerb is still in beta will get the update to the full version and also the Mac version once these are out.

Post

Thank you Mr. Schüler, this was very informative and too complicated for me!

AriesVerb seems to be very versatile, I'll check it out.

Thanks for your time.

Post

Definitely, check it out.
You will reckognize what I wrote in my post when you see the controls on the matrix page.

This certainly sounds very good.

The only thing I wish for is a kind of Basic / Advanced GUI switch (like alchemy, massive) that would put a few of the most important knobs for the gui in basic mode for the (vast majority?) newbie users who don't understand anything about how this reverb works. As it is now this is very much a preset effect for me, I can't say I understand anything about this reverb even after reading the manual and trying really hard.

Point taken, and it's already in planning. The solution is for a future version to have the ability to morph between programs and assign parameter semantics to morph targets. All this would be going onto a new "performance page".

During closed beta testing, I mailed to one person that I expected to be only a minority of users to actually dive in and tweak the settings, and that at least, every user can use AriesVerb programs like opaque impulse responses.

Just bought Ariesverb few days ago, after trying the demo. I was quite reluctant to send cash for a reverb plug-in, prefering keep it for other things music related. After all, I already have the REVerence conv. and Roomworks reverbs bundled in Cubase 5...

But I finally gave up : I bought it ! A stunning sound with crystal clear reverb tales that I didn't find in other reverbs, and I tried several, none of them sufficient to decide me to pay for it ; this with a very low CPU consumption. That was enough to decide me, considering the REVerence CPU consumption and glitches at low latencies. But there are also great effect presets not specifically reverb related worth to check.

Congrats, Christian, and keep the good work ! :)

How is it compared to the demo?

It seemed to me that the demo had full functionality but i dont know

Post

The demo version has the full functionalities of the paid one, excepting the ability to save prsets.

I didn't try to do so, prefering to browse the different presets and tweaking some of them. I made my decision quite quickly, actually...

It's the opposite: Save yes, Load yes, Recall no. The Demo cannot not load custom settings from the host. (Well, you could save your settings as individual FXP and move it into the presets folder, but you would still have to manually click on it after you recalled a project in your host). Sound wise, the Demo is identical of the full version.

After further testing I have to conclude that ariesverb is the best sounding reverb I've used so far. The added modulation/fx stuff are very good also.

Wishlist for future versions:
-Native 64-bit version (it's the inevitable future, bridging sucks)
-The basic/advanced knobs GUI switch
-Factory presets hardcoded into plugin .dll, user presets as .fxp/whatever
-More presets galore!

Christian thank you for a fair demo restrictions and excellent plugin! I will buy this some day.

I know about requests for an x64 version, but Max OSX has the higher priority. Expect the 64 bit port in winter 2009/2010!

I've just had a quick session with the demo and I'm overwhelmed. This thing seems to have limitless possibilites and the sound is outstanding. I din't read the manual yet, just had a quick look but it seems great too.

I think this reverb just elevate the standard and I think this will take time before something better see the light.

Congratulations Mr. Schüler, this is a fantastic product!

P.S. I saw on the site that you worked with 3d game engines before. Anything that was popular?

I really like the idea of an performance mode page for use with external midi controllers etc, this will give a good and creative way to control the reverb and sound in real-time during recording. I assume this Performance mode page will be less abstract and more musical, with more traditional knobs and sliders etc.

Also one ore more X:Y pads (similar to the one in alchemy, FM8 etc), it is the best way to morph sounds in creative ways, so I wish and X:Y morph pad would be used, it would be a dream to be able to control the reverb that way, you can do it in so many creative ways with and x:y pad.

Ariesverb is awesome, I got the demo today and the presets sound fantastic, I even made a few reverb and a delay patch myself just by trying things out, so I can see that with a little guidance from the manual you could come up with some nice stuff... well, maybe more than a little guidance. It is quite complicated,
and I think it could definitely benefit from a "simple" mode, but I guess thats maybe for 1.0.
It says on the website that itl be released Q2 2009 so I guess it shouldnt be too long?

Ive found so many awesome plugins recently what with Alchemy and a couple of Audio damage ones. Definitely going to buy this in the next couple of days.
