Computer Keyboard and Change VST Parameters simultaneously?

I am using my computer keyboard to play my vst's. I can't seem to adjust my parameters on my vst while playing the computer keyboard. It seems that I need to change my focus window to the main screen with the visual keyboard when I want to continue playing. It would be ideal to be able to play the computer keyboard and adjust my vst simultaneously. As a newbie maybe I just missed something.

answered my own newbie question, the F12 key and there is a button Capture PC keys right above the visual keyboard.
