Reaper is not yet released for Mac (its Beta). So I think its not the big problem when some of the Betatesters for the Mac version counting for Reaper at allHobbyCore wrote:You split some to pc/mac but not reaper?
That's going to skew the results significantly.
There is also a "problem" with EnergyXT. I'm not sure if its developed anymore as a public available DAW. But they had a deal with Behringer?
Unfortunately I cannot edit the poll, also to add some DAWs others suggested like "Podium".
But I think we could add:
- Podium
- Orion
- EnergyXT

Yeah it's interesting to see how many Reaper users are using it on mac.HobbyCore wrote:You split some to pc/mac but not reaper?

I tried the demo when it was still in beta and couldn't get on with it.
But if it now runs smooth on mac, maybe I'll try it out again.

I voted for SF because I use it more than anything else, but agree there are a few more editor DAWs that could be included. Most will load VSTs, so they do cross over into DAW territory.brok landers wrote:and why is soundforge in the poll? it's an audio editor ... not that this is a bad thing per se, but then there's missing a lot more apps in the poll, i.e. wavelab, wavosaur, audacy, etc etc ...
as i see it, this poll should be more about traditional workstation sequencers like cubase, logic, reaper, sonar and the like ...

I have 5 of those (FL, Sonar 6, AA2.0 Samp 10.2 pro and one other on the list that would be wrong of me to talk about now) plus eXT. Here's my preference
1. Samp
2. The mystery one
3. FL/AA (Fl for midi AA for audio
4. Sonar
5. eXT

I use EnergyXT, mostly version 2.x, and I've been flirting (demoing) Reaper, but haven't bought it yet.

Now whether or not the people who use it (like me) think it has enough features is another story.
What? Hello, XT has a subforum right here on KVR. There is definitely development going on.4damind wrote:There is also a "problem" with EnergyXT. I'm not sure if its developed anymore as a public available DAW. But they had a deal with Behringer?

Seems we have a top 3
1. Cubase/Nuendo (24)
2. Reaper (20)
3. Ableton Live (17)
Very interesting the success of Reaper
Some of the not expected losers: Logic.
Here the results from Gearslutz:
1. Cubase/Nuendo (59)
2. Pro Tools (47)
3. Logic (45)

IIRC in a similar poll a couple of years back FL Studio was runaway winner, and its interesting to see that its vote has tumbled this time, perhaps because of Reaper's growing success. Also the vote for Sonar has declined noticeably, again perhaps Reaper's success is a part of this.
