This is all wrong...

Now I find myself looking at Numerology yet again, which isn't even on sale, but the latest update had me retry it and apart from the 'odd' modulation setup, I got some really good stuff happening.

I know SynthSquad is just around the corner, and there's the deal for Camel Audio customers on Guru, which I still don't own, plus all the new deals that keep popping up

We may as well have a "I promise not to read KVR because it's full of good deals" thread

Post

Finally got the whole Komplete 5 set installed on this laptop. Works great! I have to say this is one of the best deals I've ever encountered. The sound potential of this whole package is unfathomable. I remember how when I bought the Roland XP-50, my first real workstation synth, I thought I'd never maximize it's sound potential, being able to create almost any sound I could imagine. It's funny to realize the naivity back then.

Now I truly feel like there is nothing stopping me from creating anything I can possibly think of and that I actually have the tools to do so in a quite intuitive fashion. Consider this my official "I will never buy another synth ever again. I have enough" statement, though I might still buy Omnisphere.. and perhaps Helix.. and oh, of course Syntsquad and BFD2.. and Kore2! But then it stops there! Promise! :hihi:

I mean, look at this insane list of sound creators I own (I mainly put it down here for my own sanity and I probably forgot a few).

+ some hardware (Kurzweil K2000rs, Roland XP-50, Emu Orbit mkII, Korg Dw6000)

How could I possibly need any more, ever, EVER!?

That's it. I'm done buying synths/sample CDs.

Cheers!

..forgive me..

I was walking passed the music shop (which is less than 2 minutes walk from the flat) and they had a classical guitar made by the firm Vintage. It has decent built-in electronics, they're a reputable mid-price company. The guitar has MSRP of £299, most places have it for ~£250.

This was up for £99. The shop's having a sale, plus it has the tiniest scratch on the bridge.

I walked on by back to the flat.

But then it started calling me. Just gently, but calling me none the less. After about an hour and a half I thought that I might go and see if anyone had picked this bargain up.

Nope. I wandered around the shop a little before asking if I could try it. Beautiful tone, lovely low action, slim and grippable neck, perfect spacing on the fretboard of both strings and frets, can whisper like a lover or twang like Ian B's cats. The electronics are crystal clear, with switchable 5-band EQ and phase inversion for getting that right sound.

..forgive me.. I'm looking at it now from the comfort of my own home. She's a darling..

I promised I won't buy anymore.

But that IK thing seems to be heading towards the 1000 mark and I might buy it.

Someone please convince me why I don't need those IK plugins. I have most everything else from IK (including TRacks standard).

But there's no Arturia? Korg Legacy? AAS (Tassman!)? (Maybe you just don't like the sound of analog synthesizers? :hihi: )

Cheers,
Andreas

Apollo Gs!

I figured that for £99, getting a guitar that I will use and will last me for 20+ years, it was worth it. Had it even been £50 more I wouldn't have given it a second look. I can play classically, and it's always a nice colour to add to tracks, but I have to admit it wasn't essential...

The guitar that I mentioned earlier in the thread has been bought for me by some extremely kind friends (at their expense).. they're bringing it over from Canada next time they're over

ik's t racks singles
no. you can't not take advantage of 4 for 100 bucks *. Enough, isn't enough until it is. And it isn't, clearly. unless you ACT NOW!!

Cause I need number four to happen sooner rather than later...
What IK thing?
Right now, 3 plugs for 100 bucks*. And these are fantastic sounding things. When there are 1000 buyers, it's 4 plugs. And that's not all! * there is some kind of 25$ discount on top of this, someone posted that here. So, that's gonna be 4 plugs for 75$.

I already caved on the FF thing.

two problems with the ik thing

1. I already have plugs in that department
2. They are pretty hungry

That does not mean I won't get it, just that it's not a high priority. Besides, there's lots of time for me to change my mind

:hihi: I can understand that. I snagged FF Twin 2 after missing the gb recently and it's nice synth but it wasn't essential. It adds a nice colour to the sound pallette though and fills a gap...wait, maybe it was essential!

 I did know about that but it didn't really register with me. That would be well worth grabbing. Cheers.
