Yeah, but what else would you be doing

Reason+Record integrate very tightly so could reasonably be considered as a single option (in the same way that many other DAW applications have their own suite of instruments included). For completeness standalone Record should perhaps be a separate choice in the poll.

And it depends on what you mean by "DAW". For example if plug-in hosting is deemed an essential element of a DAW then Reason/Record is out. Also if the manufacturer's description counts then R/R is out again, because the Props themselves have said Record is not a DAW.

Record is still in beta so probably shouldn't be in the poll anyway, given that that restriction was applied to MacReaper.

Cubase AI4 is an awesome little sequencer. Limited but that encourages creativity within its boundaries.

I think the results are just more down to the cross-section of users being polled, and also those who actively care to vote. And yes, I voted!

These polls are fun sometimes, but very highly skewed compared to reality of how many people use certain hosts. In the real world, you would have the likes of PT, Cubendo, Logic, Sonar, and even DP outnumbering all the rest in a significant manor. Live has also grown into this list as of late, but in a more specific audience.

Just keeping things in perspective, which I'm sure that most people are aware of these things. But somebody who hangs out at KVR and their respective host's forum, whatever it may be, might get the wrong idea from these posts.

There, my host-war starting post is complete.

I voted Cubase, btw. Though it's not the only one I use.

True no question the integration between Rcrd and Rsn is pretty tight but that would also mean that Sonar and Project 5 could be listed together as well. Sonar currently can read Project 5 .ptn files,

...host Project 5 instruments

...Host Project 5 FX

...without a user even starting up Project 5 and using rewire.

You only need to have Project 5 installed on your hard drive. So the integration (from that perspective) could mean Sonar's listing should be a Sonar/Project 5 listing just like Reason and Record although I too think that...
For completeness standalone Record should perhaps be a separate choice in the poll.
My thoughts exactly.

I think it would be better as is, with Sonar listed separate from P5 despite the P5 FX and Instrument hosting capability Sonar has had for years.

Project 5 is not even on the list but Tracktion is. IIRC neither is being developed anymore. So they should both be there or neither should be listed.
Record is still in beta so probably shouldn't be in the poll anyway, given that that restriction was applied to MacReaper.
I am not sure what PS1 is doing there either. As of the time of this post no one voted for it unsurprisingly as it simply is not released yet. I think Presonus have said Aug or Sept (certainly before the end of year).
