Just release version 1.9.9.7 to our beta testers.

In this release we added 128 factory waveforms that will come standard with SynthMaster 2.0.

Also, we added the support to instantiate different skins and persisting the skin information in the preset data so that each preset can have its own skin!

After looking for some bugs or improvements in v1.9.9.7 i thought about programming some patches. Before starting that now i realized what a MONSTER synth this is. And i thought that Waldorf Largo (my current favorite) has many features...

Looks a bit like combining the best features of synths like Zebra, Alchemy, Tassman 4, Absynth, Kubik and Synthedit. Very impressive. :D

UPDATE: Made a simple wavetable pad now. Synthmaster 2 will be a serious wavetable synth IMO. Very easy to make your own wavetable from the existing (or custom) waveforms. 16 steps for the wavetables are nice but maybe some more (like 32) are possible. It would be nice if you could save a "wavetable template" which contains the 16 waveforms.

We might increase the number no worries! Just have to find real estate on the screen to put all 32 waveform icons.

You can actually save a "wavetable template" by saving the settings of an oscillator (i.e. "partial" presets) As far as I remember I also implemented saving "custom" segmented waveform settings with the osc settings if the osc is using any custom waveforms! I'll double check that on Sunday!

We are very delighted to hear those comments! It's just a matter of time for people to realize that this synth has the best price/performance ratio :)

Hi folks,

Just sent out the announcement to our beta testers and registered users for version 1.9.9.8.

In this release, we have the following updates:

1. FIXED: + modulation not working properly for filter cutoff, any many other parameters.
2. FIXED: MIDI CC modulation is not working.
3. FIXED: Mono mode is functional now.
4. FIXED: Glide/Legato implemented for Mono mode.
5. FIXED: Saving partial presets that has modulators crashes SynthMaster.
6. FIXED: When you drag the slope of for example the release stage of an adsr - the point moves inverted to the mouse movement.
7. FIXED: Default Skin missing parameters for Reverb, Chorus and Tremolo.

Cheers!

Wow I totally misunderstood the purpose of this plugin last time I looked at it. Haha. Anyway, this looks really awesome, and it looks increasingly like it's destined for my wishlist and eventual purchase.

Where is the AU version?

From page 2:

1. First comes the VST-Windows version
2. Then comes VST-OSX
3. Then comes either AU-OSX or RTAS Win/OSX. We are still undecided.

So, if any of you were expecting an RTAS 2.0 release immediately, that wont happen for a while.
In other words, not until sometime after the actual Windows release and the VST OSX release.

Yeah, and there's a technical reason for that: Let's first figure out how to port VSTGUI from Win 2 Mac, and then we'll figure out how to use VSTGUI with AU.

Hi folks,

We are getting very close to our official beta release.

Today, we have finished the implementation of Microtuning in SynthMaster 2.0. In the coming 1.9.9.10 version, we have a microtune editor on the default skin:

Image

Microtune is separated as coarse+fine so that the two can be independently tuned.

Each layer has its own microtune settings, so if you think each layer like a piano string, you can tune them independently!

And of course, as in all other parts of SynthMaster, microtune settings can be saved as "partial" presets.

In the future, we can support loading tuning files, how about that? :)

Wow, this does look cool.

I thought it was something else though. As it is I am a guitar master beta, and I figured a synthmaster beta would kind of compliment that :hihi:

Seriously, Gsus people, 4 pages and no masterbeta jokes?

I'd say it'd take at least 1 month for porting PC->OSX. So let's say tentatively that at the beginning of November we'll have an VST OSX beta version!
