Acid Pro 7 is, by far, my favorite DAW.
In my opinion, Acid Pro 7 has the best integration of MIDI, audio and loops. Also, it is very easy to understand, and for the user to develop a good work-flow.

Because you're addicted, that's how they work...they slip in a copy of le with hardware, you know...the first time is free, then you step up from le and soon you have an update addiction. You're jonesing for the next fix so in between updates you try other hosts, but no host can give you that kick you get from your favorite host. Or can it?
But they dont stop there, they pass along other companies fx and instrument demos. Then you're hooked on those and they come out with updates. Soon you have an update a month habit, then two updates a month. Soon after that you start pimping you're studio out just to get money to buy my software with more updates.
Then they find you in your studio mourning your lost computer, your machine has crashed and you find yourself in a sea of re-installs, because you have a bigger better machine. That feeds the kick again and you start remembering what you loved about each host or pluggin. Thus the cycle begins again while you not only rediscover things but your machine is bigger and better so you can get bigger and better pluggins with bigger and better updates.
You said it, computers are evil...they are pushers of virtualism, the effects of which are still to be discovered. Can't you see it man? It owns your soul

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I'm really surprised that cubase is the top to some degree. Especially considering the price back in the day.
It seems thought that cubase has been at the top in all of these kinda polls for as long as I can remember

Probably upgraditis accounts for much of it. And, the more people who see how many are using Cubase, the more they think it's the DAW of choice. The combination results in more users, but not necessarily more happy users.hibidy wrote:I was a liiiittttle bit testy yesterday, sorry bout thathibidy wrote:Do you know what is NOT my favorite daw?? It's just possible, of course, that people choose to use Cubase because it offers the best features and workflow for them and is a damn good piece of software. Just a thought...eduardo_b wrote:Probably upgraditis accounts for much of it. And, the more people who see how many are using Cubase, the more they think it's the DAW of choice. [speaking as one who switched from the oh-so-trendy Ableton Live Suite to Cubase earlier this year for exactly those reasons - i.e. Cubase offers the recording musician and composer far more.]
