I have my library on a separate drive and it works fine.
I'm at work and it's been awhile, but I think there may just be a place in the Settings page where you point to the new location.

note: not that it should matter, but I actually dragged them to the new drive a few months after installing RMV.I want to install the libraries on another drive

Hi Chester
Thanks for your reply, I've moved the library but RMV doesn't see it in it's Librarian, I've added the location on the settings page but still no joy. Of course I can still import sounds but I've lost the functionality if the librarian.

Hm, strange... Well, try this, open rmV and change the library and close rmv, not only the window, close it completly in the track and open rmv again, maybe this works...

+1
Yeah I seem to remember that you had to close RMV (remove it from DAW session) then re-load it.. it will seem to take a while, but eventually it will fire up with the library intact.

I'm afraid it's still not working for me, did you guys originally install the libraries in the default location and then move them, I installed them straight onto my sample drive, maybe that's the problem ?

OK think I've sussed it now. I had to set the Startup Kit in the Setup page, restart RMV then I got error messages looking for the samples and asking if I wanted to locate them, which I did for a couple and then it just seemed to start finding the others.
I think there should be a proper explanation of this in the manual.
Thanks for you help guys.

Usually moving and setting up the startup kit does the job, no idea why its missing samples (well, you should not spread the library to different places, just to say it). And yes, it will be in next manual version, probably.

Well, it just took a little time to find them, but now all's OK thanks.Peter from LinPlug wrote:Usually moving and setting up the startup kit does the job, no idea why its missing samples (well, you should not spread the library to different places, just to say it). Really enjoying RMV, thanks!!
Did the same with RMIV and the kits are OK, just went it instantiates for the 1st time I get an error message about RMIV not finding the groove. Anyway around that ?
And while you're here, quite a few of the grooves seem pretty out of time with themselves, loose, not grooving nicely,
is there a fault or are they just like that ?
Regards Mike
PS In RMV I when I import RMIV Sample kits, they seem to load but the pads won't trigger. Synthesized Kit load fine.

a) Not sure about the missing, groove, are they there (in the lib folder, otherwise the machine might be right)
b) some grooves are a matter of tastes, naturally, what is groovy and what is imperfect or not acceptable is always much a matter of taste, try to quantize in the host, we didnt do that as it would give you fewer options.
c) some trigger problems are fixed in the soon upcomming beta,

Yeah they are there, but the plugin is looking for them in the default install location ie.
(Library/Application Support/Linplug/RM_IV_Grooves/) etc.
and not where I moved them to.

There's a workaround for RM IV - symbolic links (similar to aliases). You can create symbolic link for RM_IV_Grooves from your new location to original one: /Library/Application Support/LinPlug/RM_IV_Grooves.
You can use SymbolicLinker app to do this (or ln -s command in Terminal):
http://seiryu.home.comcast.net/~seiryu/ ... inker.html

Thanks, I wondered about that, I'll give it a try, I ended up moving them back to my system disk because older songs that had RMIV kits couldn't find any samples, seems like there is no way to relink them once they're not found.
