Isnt Era2 more for drum patterns? Catanya seems more for chords and key parts no?

Gotta love their site, just a bunch of yucky

edit: ok I see Era2 has a piano roll.. Perhaps its time for a relook (I only ever checked out Era1). I used eXT1.41 live mode the same way I guess .

That's the feature which would justify 45€. Without it... hm, maybe 30.
Maybe it will be added in the future? I'd like to see that functionality.

Yep. This is a serious missing feature at the price point they are aiming at (49€ = 70$) . I think I'll also have another look at ERA2 (49€ / 59$).

Hurry up! :hihi:

After a look I have some comments:

You can make changes to the built in patterns but there are no provisions for saving or loading any user generated patterns or any changes the user may make to the preset patterns.

The save and load buttons at the bottom of the gui are only for per note volume presets (a kind of groove template). No midi import.

Really it seems to be only an arpeggio preset player, designed to create a future market for add on sets of arpeggios.

That said, it is a slick professional gui and, with the addition of the missing functionality, could be exactly the kind of arpeggiator so many seem to be looking for.

But this are demo restrictions? Loading/saving and creating of user pattern is the most important thing. For such a plug-in I also expect import and export from Midi files and a good feature would be drag & drop of the arpeggios to the project, to create a track with the midi events, so the arpeggiator can later be disabled.

Thanks for your comment.

Load/Save user presets is available via standard host save/load preset functions (.FXP, .VSTPresets in Cubase, .KSD in Kore etc.)

I'll c h e c k it out. MIDI plugs would need to have some weird demo restriction, that's for sure. Like Algomusic Atomic was internal sounds only, and those were so basic.

+ the black design looks good

- its not a midi effect you can simple insert into some VST synth track, its a own VST "synth". So it must be loaded separately and then the output must be routed to some midi track. Better: it should be a midi effect plugin, because it does not have a own sound generating

- there is no indicator for the played step
- how does the tuning work? there is no indicator, no transpose or other useful things, I have not find out how it works

I expected something like a step sequencer programmable arpeggiator. For a step sequencer is too simple and most things are missing. For a arpeggiator its lacks also many things like a play-order (up/down/...).

Saving of user defined pattern with additional tags (it should be inserted in the sql database for the bank) is not working. But this could be a demo limitation. Loading of user defined pattern into the bank doesn't work but could also be a demo limitation. For such thinks there is missing something like pattern "tag" editor - could also be missing because its a demo.

No feature to make a pattern to a midi track, to edit the midi notes later in the project.

The volume levels for the steps should have a color feedback. High level=red step, low level=green (or a other color combination)

No triggering of different pattern with a midi note, there is missing something like "pattern slots" where pattern can be (pre)loaded and then switched with a note or a controller.

Btw... You should make a full functional demo, time limited or only with a small amount of pattern. I cannot say if some things are missing features or demo limitations. If I only see this demo, I would say "plugin with many missing features at a early stage of development".

Is there a help file? I'm not 100% sure how to create patterns.

Agree with 4damind and also missing a manual or help file.

Not what I expected, most of the presets are based around gating instead of a larger focus on cool sequences. And the sequences that are there aren't very good.
