Hello,

Has anyone installed Waldorf Edition on Windows Vista 64? The installer doesn't seem to work. I have no problems installing it on Windows Vista 32. Is there any trick?

Thanks

I am not sure but is there a "compatibility mode" for the 32-bit version in Vista 64-bit. I use Vista 32-bit and no problems with the Waldorf Edition.

I have the same issue, in fact i've never once used it since i got it after i got vista! blast!

The problem is installing them from the CD, it doesn't work. I thought maybe ot was some trick to install them. I miss Attack :-(. I think if no one has an answer we should write to Waldorf because it seems like there is only a copy protection issue.

ttoz, you are right. I don't think there should be so hard to make another installer. Has someone tried with Windows 7 64 bit? (stupid question, because Windows 7 seems like Vista V2.0, but maybe is something only related to Vista)

Here's the solution, but you need to have a Windows XP product key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion]
"ProductID"="xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx"

1) Copy the above to an editor, replace the x's with your Windows XP product key and save it as WindowsXP.reg

2) Double click on the .reg file

3) Install Waldorf Edition and enjoy :)

bM3w if that works you are my hero!! I have two legal copies of XP so I will use the serial numbers of these copies.

It definitely worked for me and I'm pretty sure it'll work for everyone else, too

The above does work in fact... I had to do the same thing months ago.

I also e-mailed Waldorf, and they said they are aware of the installer issue and will have a revised 64 bit installer "later this year".

Many thanks for the workaround :-), you are the true Waldorf customer service! Could this screw up my reg file on Windows 64? I suppose is safe.

PS: Again, many thanks for the replies.

No, I don't think so. I haven't experienced any problems.

I'm glad it worked for you, too. Have fun playing with your new "old" toy

When the original installer fails, do you not get a pop up asking

"Did this program install correctly?"

as you have the option to install with recommended parameters or something and this has always fixed any problems like that for me.

What Waldorf Edition are you guys referring to ?
The newer rip-off one or the original one distributed by Steinberg back then ?
