Hi everyone,
I was searching synths and jazz, and stumbled across this great loungey samba jazz piece, was wondering if anyone is able to help me recognise what mode or scale this person is improvising in? Or is it more than one?
I know part of what he's playing is the melody but he embelishes and improvises a lot, and the whole pieces seems to be a very distinct sound - can anyone identify it? I really like the tones and would like to explore the mode/scale/technique.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
What scale or mode is this?

Those are typical minor bossa changes. Starting in a min. 7th/min. 9th area, it moves up a half-step to Maj9th chord, back down and then variations of ii V i's in the key.EoN604 wrote:Hi everyone,

Bridge changes are 2-5-1 oriented in various other keys to temporarily establish related tonal areas before returning (via 2-5-1) back to the orig. minor key.
Get a book of Jobim tunes and learn the changes. They will expand your harmonic and melodic vocabulary a lot!
Wow that nord sounds REALLY good - a world-class Rhodes sound! Nice playing too.
