I hope it is a new host. I been looking for one I like that is not buggy and is intuitive. I have found a couple but nothing perfect for me yet.

I think they get us to start coming up with ideas, then they make up a GUI, and start work
I don't know. The last time with the hyper-hype, a lot of us sincerely were hoping and wanting Sampletank 3. It turned out to be TRacks Deluxe.

And I certainly hope its not like Roland's RED countdown. Oh gawd! Do any of you folks remember that way back 2 years ago? Roland had this massive internet hype going for a huge launch of a fancy product. It had its own countdown webpage, starting in days, i believe. We all thought it was a red colored oasys killer from Roland and were hyping so much about it.

It turned out to be a small geetar amp that looks like a cube. Only painted in red.

I like the idea of a new Host integrating all of IK's effects and instruments because I love the sound quality of all IK's stuff..
However, whether I would make the switch or not would depend on its stability. Considering IK's software can be quite quirky and random I don't see how they could pull a DAW off without it being a total CPU hog/bugfest..

I'm still dealing with hung notes and stability issues while using Powered by Sampletank/Amplitube stuff which has been out how many years now? Even Tracks 3 Deluxe was acting strange from time to time..

I tried to save a custom multi-timbral patch in Sampletank the other day (the first time I ever tried it) and my whole system crashed. One of several problems I've had with SampleTank on two totally different systems.

I use their software sparingly in a lot of cases because I know that if I load too many IK plugs at once things are going to get a little unpredictable and that's the last thing you need to be worrying about when working on a project.

Andrew Bach said the new product would be a shock and to be honest a fully fledged DAW is the only thing that will "shock" me..

Some more guesses:

* Electric Spoons -- no, not to eat with, silly! Ones to make tippity-tappity-tippity-tappity music with... 'cept these have a 1/4" jack and volume and tone knobs.

* Time Maschine -- useful for when your favorite DAW app crashes and corrupts the project file... just jump inside and dial in "5 Minutes Ago", problem solved... will definately change music creation forever. Will also have a "Backup Hard Drive" setting.

* Portable Cone of Silence -- works both ways... make music anywhere, anytime...

* Zero Point Energy Maschine -- with all that free time we'd all have from, you know, not having to go to work anymore, we could all sit at home making music... Somehow I think this product and Time Maschine are related... gonna have to check with R&D on that...

* Sex Robot -- not much to do with music, but that'd be pretty cool. If they become popular and IK sells enough of them, we could build an Army of Sex Robots. Think about it.

Yeah... that countdown webpage business has got to stop... unless you're about to unveil the cure for cancer, or days until Armageddon or something... otherwise you're just setting yourself for a big dose of "what the hell didn't just happen?!".

Yeah, then we'd just have another new Bjork video.

Just noticed a design flaw... Electric Spoons should also have a USB port for the everything-must-be-connectable-via-USB crowd...

Ha! Some good stuff there!

I like "cone of silence" best :hihi:

I already mentioned that. I get the prize, if it turns out to be that indeed.
Is not! I be Arhrhnold the wunderbar govarharhnar of kaelifurnia, und Ich will bash you wiz my magic swoOord, okie?
I suppose you're right, but let the IK folks decide... :D

it'll be like one of those little BOSS Micro recorders. And it will come with all of IKs plug-ins. so basically it'll be a super portable multitrack recorder that you can take everywhere

would be cool.... I'd want one of those for sure if the integrated preamp and a/d converter are any good.

so - something like this:

just slightly better

My new guess is an internet based MIDI DAW. You can log in from anywhere there's an internet connection using your login information and use its online midi instruments and effects. Then when you get home you can convert that data to your studio DAW and continue working.
Brilliant IKMM, just brilliant :hail:
