And when the music is the product being advertised...?ckatrun411 wrote:Unlike advertising, the art of music does not need to be a manipulator. Marketing is a science of manipulation, and it employs many tools known to cause an emotional response. Music can be one of the tools marketers employ, but music in and of itself, does not have the singular purpose of promoting a product.blank/diod wrote:Well... music is also a kind of 'psychological method' to manipulate people's emotions just like advertising is

arrg, I didn't say, "you can't manipulate with music." I tried to make it clear, that I am well aware that people use music as a tool to manipulate all the time. Neo Nazi hate groups, religious organizations, multi-national conglomerates, African tribes, and random people who get a kick from linking that stupid song; all use music as a weapon.
However, music is not defined as, "a tool used specifically in the manipulation of someone."
In the same way, sex is not defined as, "way to hurt and manipulate people," but advertisers use it all the time, to strike at our inner most fantasies, and get us to purchase their products.
Anyways, this is far off topic, so I would just like to say that, "music radar thinks the new IK product is amplitube 3.0." I highly doubt IK is about to unleash a DAW.
If IK was creating a VRE music system. I'd buy it.

The jist of it is, music is music, and its definition does not change; if it is advertised on television, or played at a campfire.
While music can be used to manipulate, it is different from advertising because in and of itself, music is not defined as a way to promote products. Just like sex, and free, and fun are not defined as ways to promote products.
However, all the things above can be used to promote products.

It's a virtual summing device that works with any DAW. Or maybe it a hardware AD/DA I/O combo with summing. Pro Tools HD has discrete summing (I think) other than that the market is "wide open". But that's my guess. Bring on the "wide" mixes people!

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

well, that was my first thought when someone showed me google wave.timnl85 wrote:Maybe the "for everyone, everywhere" is refering to some sort of online music production system /daw where people all over the world could connect via the internet and make songs together!
Via the browser or via a seperate application.
that's my guess, some online collab using the 'one server' idea of wave

My guess:
1. it's some sort of automix plugin. You insert it on every track, tell him what is what (bass, kick, vocal etc) and basic mix guidelines (like, song should be bass or vocal dominant etc) and rest is up to plugin
2. some app. which helps you to write tunes. Lets say you have cool 4 chords going, but you cannot find fifth one. Then app is coming up with some suggestions for fifth chord. It acts like co-writer
3. Online music production system.
4. A C C E S S V I R U S VST
(I'm wondering why nobody didn't come up with this idea)

... erm ... SampleTron and SampleMoog were fairly "me too" ...
Anyway, there are times when I wish for SampleTank to Kontakt converter (as I only use it for the weird and wonderful eSoundz' stuff).
ARC was innovative, I'll give you that ...
Anyway, my guess is
a) portable multitrack recorder with IK fx
b) Muse receptor kind of device only cheaper, smaller and filled with IK goodies
