Sample Processing: New Models of Gear for T-RackS 3 - VOTE!

The way we tend to make sounds at Sonic Reality is with a natural acoustic/studio approach where the samples have little to no processing done on them so you have the most flexibility to process them with products like IK's T-Racks 3 Deluxe series of TR Singles. http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... =kvrtrpoll
Products in particular that are designed to be "produced" further by YOU using products like T-Racks 3, UAD and other plug-ins that emulate the DREAM outboard gear of hardware recording studios include:
R.A.W. Loop Libraries
http://www.esoundz.com/downloads.php?fi ... mit=search
Ocean Way Drums
http://www.esoundz.com/downloads.php?pn ... 8186H27880
Drum Masters
http://www.esoundz.com/downloads.php?fi ... ubmit=find
Also the upcoming Ken Scott Collection featuring Bill Cobham, Terry Bozzio, Woody Woodmansey (Bowie), Bob Siebenberg (Supertramp) and Rod Morgenstein (Dixie Dregs) will be great to use with TR as well as Neil Peart's set and the Collins kit we recorded with Hugh Padgham. Pretty soon we're releasing Sonic Reality T.V. where you will be able to have a behind the scenes look at these sessions and more... when you do you will see the HARDWARE Fairchilds, Pultecs and other great outboard gear in various top studios around the world that we sample in. [If you're anxious you can even see it now on our beta site: www.sonicreality.net , that will eventually be the new sonicreality.com once it is finished and ready for prime time. You can also view various things right on YouTube ]
So, on to the poll! Since this is the Sonic Reality forum we're talking about the angle of using T-Racks 3 Singles and POTENTIAL models in the future you may desire with a particular focus on processing samples such as the ones I mentioned above. On Sonic Reality TV will be doing tutorials showing samples and the TR plug-ins together in action soon. Of course TR Singles can be used on much more than just that but processing natural acoustic samples is a nice place to start (and completes the picture for a virtual reality studio, particular for use with multichannel drums!).
Now, this is an unofficial poll and will only be running for a short time. There is absolutely no guarantee that any of this will happen (and it is out of our control at SR, we just make the sounds that could processed by such plug-ins). However, the logic of priority by demand *could* apply here in the same way I mentioned the concept in our other poll. Therefore... vote for what you REALLY want the most!

Would love to see the 1176 and LA-2A to keep from buying a UAD card. Neve stuff would also be great

Ditto, when I saw this poll those are the exact units I was looking for.Reverend Rhythm wrote:How about Models of Empirical Labs products? I thinking specificly of Distressor and Fatso.

Those are great studio pieces. We have some of those in the other mixing room at our studio. Although those are kind of models themselves in a way of other gear. More or less. So I didn't put down products like that or Tube-tech which are mostly made to emulate other hardware products.Reverend Rhythm wrote:How about Models of Empirical Labs products? I understand that they are themselves copies. ... and we all know that "a copy of a copy isn't as sharp" (obscure movie quote). But these are very popular hardware units, so I thought is was worth the discussion.Squids wrote:Those are great studio pieces. We have some of those in the other mixing room at our studio. Manley massive passive or Chandler TG1 would be most nice. But there's no denying an 1176 emulation would make those about to dig deep for a UAD card think twice...

IMHO there are already lots of (perhaps too many) models of Neve, SSL and API... and both Fairchild and Pultec for that matter. I'd like to see something different so voted for Harrison as I've heard good things. Manley, Avalon, Millenia and Helios would be nice too.

A special offer to you guys. If you want something great to run through T-Racks like Ocean Way Drums then I'll make a deal for anyone who gets both but only for the month of August AND only for those who know about it from reading KVR (like this post or anyone who wants to quote me on it is fine elsewhere - but it is a sort of "unofficial" offer). IF you happen to pick up Ocean Way Drums DL Edition, Silver, Gold or Platinum -AND- you got in on the TR Singles then we'll give you $50 in epointz to use on any Sonic Reality downloadable product.
For those of you in the United States I will do one up on that one. IF you buy whatever Guitar Center happens to have on hand of Ocean Way Drums DL Edition or Silver Edition then just fax us the receipt and we'll send you a free Ocean Way Drums gear bag and maybe some other SR swag like a mouse pad or t-shirt. Good luck!
So, you can get OWD from any SR dealer or right from here: www.downloadablesoundz.com/oceanwaydrums (or on www.esoundz.com - just click on the Ocean Way Drums banner).
IF you buy OWD from anywhere and just show proof that you bought it in August (even going back to the first is ok) to Allen (our support manager) then as long as you bought TR Singles (yes, from anywhere too... even IK but you'll have to show proof is all) then we'll GIVE you $50 in epointz to spend on any Sonic Reality sound downloads from drums to loops to instruments... knock yourself out with it. I think you'll find OWD and TR Singles to be a nice combination.
Again, don't expect to see any email about this or an update to the site. This is a hidden offer that only you forumites and all the people you reach will know about. It's pretty good! Remember you ALSO get 1,000 free midi files from Groove Monkee and EZ Player Pro (worth $50 alone) for free this month on top just when you get OWD. If you were EVER going to buy Ocean Way Drums DL I'd say THIS would be it.
At the very least you owe it to yourself to check it out now that you've got these lush T-Racks Singles. Well, we have a 2 week TRIAL version of Ocean Way Drums which you can get to from here: www.downloadablesoundz.com/oceanwaydrums You actually get to keep one kit for free as long as you have Kontakt Player. Why not? Check it out and see/hear for yourself.

I'm actually in the market for a good, dongle-less channel strip. Been looking long and hard at the Duende and UAD.
Leaning towards the UAD, but I'd need a UAD2 Quad just to run ~32 channels of their 4K Channel Strip. Processing power isn't an issue for me -- I'm running a Mac Pro (which was only a little more $ than the UAD2 Quad).
Of course I could just go Duende, but then I'd miss out on all the other great plugins UAD's known for -- their UA/Neve emulations and Precision suite.
